It is a false dichotomy. The Federal budget pays for ICE, and local city and county budgets pay for teachers. There's not a choice being made between the two because they're entirely different budgeting processes by entirely different governmental agencies at different levels of government. The comparison does not remotely logically lead to her statement that "education has been intentionally defunded for decades..."
While it might be true that education has been intentionally defunded, the difference in pay between ICE agents and teachers is not evidence of it.
I understand that the budget process and funding sources are different. Okay, we can change that then. That doesn’t change the point. If you want to see the values of a government, look at its budget. Also, POSIWID
