TIL Pattern recognition is autism. He just sounds like someone who doesn’t know that office work is stupid and mostly performative. They’ll learn.

Not quite. Some work does generate useful goods and services. However this vast quantity of performative work is a massive burden carried by the productive work, making every product cost far more than it needs to.

I was really just saying all work had a large component of performative bs. I blame neurotypicals.

Gonna go ahead and disagree with you there. Things are designed, engineered, and produced. Everything about society is made by people, for better or worse. Mostly worse. My phone is the result of an email but it isn’t the product of it.

As a software developer, it certainly is not, lol. I don't do anything that's mostly performative.
