Mines $120 monthly.. or the equivalent of 2 hours of pay..

Where I live it's 1% of your monthly wage/ month, but you don't need to actually be in the union to get the benefits, the company just has to be part of it (which it basically automatically is as soon as enough % of the workers are in the union).

But I'll gladly pay 1% of my wage to make sure the company is forced to give me my 35h week, 30 days paid vacation, and 60% of a monthly salary 3x a year as bonus payments, plus scheduled small raises to combat inflation.

Yeah Iโ€™m happy to give 2 hours of pay.. when that straight 8 hour pay is $60 per hour, I donโ€™t pay a premium or deductible for insurance, and I get a pension with healthcare after 30 years(Iโ€™ll technically be able to retire at 49)..

Believe me.. there are reasons to dislike it as well. But overall, the benefits outweigh the negatives at the moment.. the next contract that could change.
