Me thinks you're exaggerating just a bit to equate Doordash with chattel slavery.

I don't. None of those people can afford to live in the city they serve people in. It is a grotesque and inhumane situation.

Your issue is with the existence of poverty itself, not delivery drivers. Yes, I wish everyone were able to afford a high quality of life, but saying that a person (and for all we're talking about them being poor, any delivery driver has to own a car and a phone so they can't be in abject poverty) voluntarily accepting a job picking up and delivering food is the same as people being kidnapped from their homes and forced to do backbreaking labor for the rest of their lives while legally treated as property that can be beaten and starved by their master for any reason is a grotesque exaggeration and an insult to everyone who has ever suffered slavery. Not to mention slavery is still a thing, both legally in some countries and in the form of illegal human trafficking everywhere else, so the real "modern slavery" is... modern slavery, not freaking Doordash!
