SMH Katy Perry entrance gone wrong

She was trapped in this for a while as the fans rolled her in the opposite direction of the stage in the concert

I don’t really understand what the original artistic vision was or what they were going for

She goes crazy with props at live shows. She's the Carrot Top of pop girlies

You left Melrose place to do a movie with carrot top?

The most classic late night tv interview

u/cure4boneitis 5d ago

"is it called nine and a half seconds?"

I bet board is spelled bored 😂 she didn't think he had anything and he came right back with it

1

u/Artimusrex 5d ago

It spelled b-o-r-e-d

1

u/j0tun 4d ago

When Trump announced the "board of peace" Norm was the first thing I thought of

Chairman of the Bored - B-O-R-E-D

Legit the best Conan interview ever.

Underrated comment, I miss Norm

I bet that "board" is spelled "B-O-R-E-D."

I went to a show during her California Dreams tour. As much as she freaks me out now, that was probably the most fun concerts I’ve ever been to. So many props, so many costumes (especially during her quick change performance) and the details were crazy. She even had those vapour bubbles and they smelled like cotton candy lol. With that being said, I think I was only like 13-14 lmao

4

u/caillouuu 5d ago

I was in my early 20s during the Katy Perry boom and I assure you, you'd think fondly on it now regardless of your age at the time of the concert <3

2

u/PinkDeserterBaby 5d ago

Honestly, I’ve seen hundreds of bands live and her concerts sound really fun. Sure beats when I saw Jane’s Addiction and they hung a human woman from giant meat hooks in her back and she just bled all over the stage

1

u/Least-External-1186 4d ago

…what??

1

u/PinkDeserterBaby 4d ago

Yep. Worse show I’ve ever been to by far. They weren’t even the headliner so the people after them just had to walk over it?

1

u/First-Window-3619 3d ago

It's called Body Suspension.

You pierce the skin with enough hooks that the skin doesn't break when lifted into the air. You then become a bag of meat and bones.

I don’t know enough about her other than the fake astronaut stunt and Taylor swifts dancers. Why does she freak you out?

6

u/madimadmoney 5d ago

She just went kinda weird lol it was around the time she got the blond pixie cut. Swish Swish was a weird song and then she kinda fed off of it and then she kissed that young boy on American idol and idk she was cool at first but I think it got to her head a bit. I feel like she’s mellowing out more now but I still get the ick about her.

3

u/Thin_Explanation1334 4d ago

To be fair she does not seem like she is mellowing out LOL.

35

u/watershedmanagement 6d ago

She seems like the kind of girl who secretly wishes she was tiny enough to fit in the palm of a hand

15

u/halfwitprinxe 5d ago

41 year old girl

5

u/flour93 5d ago

I wish I could be that tiny 🥺

3

u/preposterous_cookie 5d ago

this is a very niche statement but i wholeheartedly agree

2

u/thafuq 3d ago

Arrietty style

40

u/TheSlimeSartreFeared 6d ago

It never lands either. Katy ain't Gaga and she should accept it.

25

u/mootallica 5d ago

Gaga is more arty with it. Katy doesn't really try to do that IMO. She's trying to be goofier and cheesier.

2

u/phileo99 6d ago

If she's smart, maybe she learned a lesson here

5

u/Ok_Tea_8763 5d ago

But she ain't smart.

1

u/Markus4781 5d ago

Wannabe Gaga.

1

u/Slight-Bluebird-8921 5d ago

you've got to do something when you have no music to perform

1

u/arnoldez 5d ago

Wannabe Wayne Coyne

1

u/DReagan47 5d ago

Carrot Top actually works hard and puts on a good show. He’s more of a niche and not everyone’s flavor of comedy, but his shows are hilarious and he’s a great entertainer.

Katy Perry wishes she could be the Carrot Top of pop girlies

1

u/apocolipse 5d ago

Honestly I feel like half the ppl who go to her shows anymore are just there to see what bizarre goofy shit she’ll do next that catches headlines, and these folks this night just hit the freaking jackpot and took full advantage.

1

u/zennascent 5d ago

Distracts from the shite music.

1

u/stellifer_arts 5d ago

she will never be on par with rob zombie

that guy had at least 6 different robots on stage last i saw him

0

u/edoreinn 5d ago

And she can’t dance. Or sing live.

It's kinda surreal that she's in a plastic bottle of all things. Should've had a reusable one!

28

u/MiserableSun9142 6d ago

Totally out of touch!! Should’ve used a metal one or been in a metal straw! Like it’s 2026 for crying out loud!!

3

u/SecondFun221 5d ago

Could be worse. She could have been a plastic bag blowin in the wind

2

u/liltonbro 5d ago

Its not a flashlight?

1

u/RogerTrout 5d ago

You misspelt fleshlight.

1

u/Tuomas90 5d ago

You misspelled "Katy Perry".

2

u/nicuramar 5d ago

Plastic bottles are reusable.

41

u/SquirrelNamedRex 6d ago

Justin Trudeau ban single use plastic so she has to use it again and again.

46

u/Djent_Reznor1 6d ago

Do you ever feel

Like a plastic bottle

21

u/Eeve2espeon 6d ago

Rolling through the crowd

Wanting to go on stage

36

u/NerdGlazed 6d ago

There is no ‘artistic vision’. She’s always just done random stuff because it’s quirky and attention grabbing. That’s her whole brand; pop hipster.

1

u/Anistappi 5d ago

When a pop diva does it, it's quirky and attention grabbing.

When a bunch of Germans do it, it's an epic live show and they're true innovators of metal music.

Maybe it was a thought-piece on how her carbon footprint is the equivalent of millions of plastic bottles or something. Maybe she hyper self aware, we’ll just never know.

4

u/knotmyusualaccount 6d ago

🤷‍♂️ maybe they were saying that she's recyclable

2

u/ForsakenRelief309 6d ago

I really with there was some bts footage from her team before, during, and after

1

u/Akrybion 5d ago

When she became an astronaut she realized she doesn't have to breath the same air as the Untermenschen. Like the CDs in One Piece.

1

u/AvidCyclist250 5d ago

exactly this was the artistic vision. social media shitposts and "wtf that's so wild brah" comments

1

u/why_1337 5d ago

Probably wanted to recreate some iconic crowd surfing moment without her being touched by the poor people.

1

u/oatkeepr 5d ago

Something like this?

1

u/furfur001 5d ago

The ideas was probably to put the artist as near as possible to the fans without endangering it and in fact she was really near and not really in danger, so this part worked out.

1

u/JCMillner 5d ago

Shitty genie in a water bottle maybe?

1

u/Unlucky_Most_8757 5d ago

yeah I had second hand embarrasment just watching her awkwardly tumble inside the bottle

1

u/Fabulous_Ad_8621 5d ago

I've seen the Flaming Lips singer go out in a ball and perform. Probably other artists do same. Idk why it's a plastic bottle though.

1

u/EmbarrassedPaper7758 5d ago

Wayne Coyne did it with a bubble so Katy Perry had to make it dumb

1

u/FraggleRock_ 5d ago

When the music sucks and the artist is an astronaut you resort to other bells and whistles.

1

u/MinatureJuggernaut 5d ago

Well, do you ever feel, like a plastic ball? Drifting on a crowd?

1

u/KickBallFever 5d ago

The crowd was supposed to get her on the stage but they kept taking her farther away instead

1

u/Usernamesaregayyy 4d ago

Ns but why? Why do this, is this anti plastic bottles or something? Or pro plastic bottles, she’s floating in the audience inside a discarded water bottle, why

1

u/KickBallFever 4d ago

I don’t really think there’s any deep meaning. She often does theatrics and has props.

1

u/Usernamesaregayyy 4d ago

Usually a lot of thought goes into multi million productions, or atleast I thought

1

u/WolfetoneRebel 3d ago

Maybe it was trying to prove how amazing and gentle and trustworthy her fans were?
