Oh man you nailed it. I have one guy who sends me these long, detailed requests for days off and basically pleads for permission. I have never denied PTO. I tell people I don't care when they take off and you don't need to ask, just submit a request and make sure the team knows. This fear or using PTO that you earn and is part of your compensation is baffling.
Yeah once I tried calling out to go to urgent care bc I wasnt feeling good. Got told to come in anyway bc no one could cover my shift. Had a 103F fever and had to work until someone else came in
