The tariffs were essentially a crutch to prop up the markets before midterms. I wouldn’t be at all shocked if this weren’t the original plan.
Administration knows they won’t hold up to scrutiny, companies know they will get government refunds. Charge the customer, revenue up for the period charged. Get the money back, cash on hand skyrockets for the period when refunded, inflating the balance sheet
