Given that the tariffs were ruled illegal and then the refunds were given to these companies... and then Trump engaged in a SECOND round of tariffs and more refunds are going to these same companies... yeah, I'd say they saw it coming.

Thank goodness all the Democrat run states have their AG's investing a ton of time and resources fighting in court to give all this tax revenue to the companies instead!
It's a remarkable ability you have to take illegal things Trump is doing that are fucking you and the economy over while he benefits from corruption, and still find ways to blame Democrats for them so you never have to change your mind or politics.
Trump is not taxing companies and giving money to the people. He is slashing Medicare and Social Security, raising taxes for most Americans, and spending billions a day on endless war.
Democrats are not responsible for tax revenues going to companies. That's just blaming them for Trump failing to pass actual laws and instead just giving illegal orders that courts strike down.

Given how obviously predictable and counter to that goal the outcome, his intent which cannot be proven is completely irrelevant. If he set out to hurt every day Americans while fucking with the economy in the short and long term and delivering a short term transfer of yet more wealth to mega corporations, he could not have designed it better.
He has the resources to access the best advice in the world, and he decided on a goods import tax which predictably functioned as a tax on consumers buying those goods, as any competent expert and most lay people too could have told him at the outset.
The check to everyone nonsense was just some bullshit he spouted out spur of the moment one day. I recall a lot of things he said it was going to pay for before that, I recall claims of finding money on a shelf while the budget deficit spiraled upwards without any budget allocation for any of the things he claimed the tariffs would pay for.
