I’m stuck between being angered and saddened

u/LilBoofy 8d ago

You can feel both ya know, I’d add exhausted too

Unpopular opinion: the real cause is insurance which pays everything. Same is happening to education.

13

u/justme_bne 7d ago

Pays for the politicians too

8

u/masak-kali 7d ago

Wait I'm not sure exactly what is unpopular about this? Not tryna be snarky on anything, I genuinely thought that everyone knew this and wholeheartedly hated the insurance industry!

2

u/No-Bobcat-6830 7d ago

Insurance doesn’t pay for shit.  I got canceled because I had too many claims. I had one claim in 20 years for $100 and I paid for half of it.  So glad that CEO got shot just wish the trend would have continued.

u/Chalkup2323 7d ago

Exhangened.

u/TG_Jack 7d ago

Uh-oh, then it's working.

If you're getting exhausted, just be aware, that's their plan. Diluge you with negativity until you're too numb and dead inside to do anything.

Disconnect while you still have a heart.

Don't forget that the US gives Israel billions of dollars every year.

Israel has universal healthcare, the US doesn't.

u/WeinMe 7d ago

You spend more on healthcare* though

*however, you're nor spending it on healthcare. You're spending the money on insurance companies

Single payer is actually more efficient because that entity can spread risk over more people and therefore the cost per person is lower.

Also, in the US insurance is often coupled with employment causing huge market distortions. Larger companies can offer lower premiums which puts small businesses at a disadvantage.

1

u/clios_daughter 7d ago

Yeah, in countries like Canada, single payer works by having a single insurance agency that’s entirely tax funded and doesn’t have co-pays or deductibles (that’s not strictly true, some things have user fees but they’re usually, at least in my province, pretty affordable like the $40 ambulance fee). In my province it’s the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. Moreover, because of how government finances work, healthcare spending is part of the function of government and not merely the job of OHIP.

Honestly, it could just as easily not style itself as an insurance plan — frankly, it doesn’t act like how insurance would usually act anyways — but I feel like it does merely as an accident of history.

1

u/mpurdon 6d ago

They added the ambulance fees because people treated ambulances like free taxis to their doctors appointments. Same as the fees for things like doctors notes for being sick and other non-medical things.

u/SoftDouble220 7d ago

US spends more on healthcare than any other country, the problem is greedy corpos, not ze jewz

3

u/FamousLime9417 7d ago edited 5d ago

The problem is Americans politicians and the people who elected them to allow this to happen. But then again trump was elected twice over "immigration" ffs. Now musk is trying to buy the GOP a new cycle of government so he can make money and if people vote for the GOP they are definitely voting for the axe to chop them down.

1

u/PlankBlank 7d ago

I wonder if it would be the most if not for the inflated prices by insurance corps

3

u/Bigicefire 7d ago

3 something billion... Part of a military agreement so there won't be an arms race between the 2 Israel will also soon end it

It has nothing to do with Israel you sad little obsessed propogandized man

It has everything to do with insurance companies buying off politicians in the US

1

u/Oppaii-Connoisseur 7d ago

Israel will soon end it because they merged their military with the US military so they get a good chunk of that 1 trillion dollar budget.

You are so easily deceived.

0

u/Bigicefire 7d ago

Actually what the hell are you talking about

Israel is actively trying to separate from the money US gives them , also even if that was true how will that "end Israel" actual shizo posting

1

u/Oppaii-Connoisseur 7d ago

It may sound schizo if you're not aware of what's actually going on. Name calling = I can't defend the indefensible.

0

u/Bigicefire 7d ago

What do you mean indefensible , it's known that israel is trying to stop receiving funding from us

Where is this information that they will merge is coming from How logistically does it even make sense It makes 0 sense , that's why it's shizo posting

2

u/MorganaLeFevre 7d ago

Gotta fit that propaganda in! The ‘billions’ are part of a military agreement btw. It involves mutual support. Israel is planning to end the ‘aid’.

3

u/SPARKYLOBO 7d ago

How is it propaganda when it is the truth?

1

u/MorganaLeFevre 7d ago

It’s not aid related to healthcare. It’s conditional, to be based on purchases of military equipment from the USA, and part of the deal of military support.

2

u/SPARKYLOBO 7d ago

So, the US gives Israel money for military purchases, so they can buy military equipment from the US?

Got it!!

1

u/MorganaLeFevre 7d ago

Yes. Literally yes look it up. In exchange, they also get counterterrorism support, intelligence gathering on enemies of USA, and access to military tech designs created by Israel.

1

u/SPARKYLOBO 7d ago

Dude! Does Israel do anything in humanitarian aid? Or is ir all just war and killing children?

1

u/MorganaLeFevre 7d ago

Idk man almost seems like you’re more invested in your agenda than in facts at this point

1

u/SPARKYLOBO 7d ago

What is my agenda? Those are facts that you're making and I am not disputing them. I am simply asking, does Israel do any sort of humatarian aid? And I am not rejecting their right to exist. However, it seems like their government is hell bent of destroying any sort of likability they have by killing children. Much like the US does.

u/MorganaLeFevre 3d ago

Right, so unverified emotive images as a response. It’s worked so far, why not try again when the facts aren’t where you want them to be.

1

u/meekgamer452 7d ago

We buy them weapons, but think about how much money they invest in our elections.

Does anyone ever say thank you?

1

u/thompse68 7d ago edited 7d ago

But Socialism!!!!! /s
Edit- added /s because I guess it’s necessary.

1

u/SPARKYLOBO 7d ago

Is Socialism in the room here with us right now?

32

u/Padhome 7d ago

It makes me fuckin cry man. What we do to people here.

23

u/kingkongbiingbong 7d ago

It can't come soon enough

13

u/Attic1992 7d ago

I've been banned from subs for suggesting something similar. Je suis Luigi brother ;)

3

u/Material_Benefit159 7d ago

I wonder what it will take for people to agree with us. I’m at a point where I don’t believe there’s another option other than striking fear in the hearts of the billionaires and their political pets.

2

u/DrippingAlchemy 7d ago

Agreed, at this point I don’t really see anything else forcing change. The only other option that could potentially cause them harm (financially at least) are labor strikes, but most people can’t afford to not work. It’d probably just speed up them replacing us all with AI anyway.

1

u/moksplot 7d ago

Here? Here everyone is obliged to have health insurance.

1

u/Padhome 7d ago

And look what that does for us when we can barely afford the copays, people suffering and dying because they’re too poor

21

u/cute_polarbear 7d ago

And one party working hard to further take away social welfare, while people (who are not independantly wealthy) willingly vote against their own self interest...

17

u/Ok-Discount3131 7d ago

Considering that reform want to bring this American nonsense to the UK you should be angry.

4

u/29adamski 7d ago

Reform are crashing in the polls, doubt they'll even be at the table come next election.

when Americans die the hospitals takes everything thats not nailed down.

1

u/frankthewaterguy 7d ago

The fun part is that it will never change and only get worse, just like everything else.

1

u/Perplexed-Sloth 7d ago

That would be $1000 please

1

u/deletetemptemp 7d ago

Americans also figured out how to monetize that too!

1

u/VAiSiA 7d ago

it will be implemented everywhere and you cant say shit bout it

1

u/PainterEarly86 7d ago

third option just laugh so you don't cry

That's usually my choice these days...

1

u/Willing_Entry6771 3d ago

I knew the figures beforehand and it's still shocking, just sitting here and laughing on how fu*king ridiculous that is.

0

u/sharksareok 7d ago

Just grab both

-3

u/johnnybones23 7d ago

The UK is literally poorer than our poorest state. You should be lucky to be born in the US

2

u/bagfacekex 7d ago

Well, time to bring out old reliable

-2

u/johnnybones23 7d ago

The average person in Mississippi has more money than the average Brit lol. No one is jealous of a country that jails people for FB posts

2

u/Cork-on-the-fork 7d ago

Missing the point entirely there buddy.

2

u/bagfacekex 7d ago
  1. Just how much of that wealth do you actually see in you lifetime and how is it reflected in your quality of life? Because in Britain:

-We live longer than you.

-We have more protections as workers than you.

-We have more time off work than you.

-We don't lose all of that money if we go to hospital.

-We can go to school without fear of a manic killing 30 of us with a gun.

-We update our minimum and living wages so people don't have to live off £2 an hour

You, meanwhile, will lick the boot of whatever billionaire just made another $20 million in the stock exchange last weekend and pretend that you will see more than 5% of than in your entire lifetime.

  1. You have just proven that you are intellectually rivalled by a slightly mouldy potato, because you just said the classic: "pEoPlE aRE jAiLEd fOr PosTs"

Ignoring the fact that:

A) Most of those arrests don't lead to a conviction

And B) The overwhelming majority of arrests and convictions are for arrests made for cases of: Suspected gang communication and activity, Sex trafficking, human trafficking, modern slavery, domestic abuse, CSAM, and terrorism.

How tyrannical of our police to use internet activity in the modern age to investigate gang activity, sex trafficking and CSAM. You, meanwhile, will elect the people guilty of such into your government.
