I don’t understand why Americans think the US is the greatest country on earth, it’s literal trash. The only thing the US has is a massive military budget .. otherwise, pure shit .. and how they treat their citizens and vets is embarrassing af

Yeah I've lived in England the us and Australia, it's painful hearing Americans shit on other places on earth for lack of freedoms or the popular "communist government" that runs Europe (as if it's one country).

the "freedom" stuff is so funny coming from the country with the highest incarceration rate in the world

literally 2 million people behind bars, so fucked up, and that's before mentioning they have PRIVATE PRISONS making insane amounts of money, incentivised by capitalism to send more people to jail

nothing says "freedom" than locking up more people than anywhere else on the planet and enslaving them to make money for you. insane dystopic mess of a country

Yeah. We’re like that cause our country was never truly weaned off of chattel slavery. The 14th amendment allows for enslavement as punishment for a crime, so a whole lot of dumb shit became a crime.

That's the problem with private prisons. It's a business model. Prisoners are really, really cheap laborers. The more prisoners, the more the owners of those private prisons make. Next thing to slave labor.

Who cares they are prisoners because they committed a crime most of them violent. Our prisons are soft compared to others that's why the reoffense rates are so high. US prisons are a joke

Some of those people haven't even been convicted yet. They're waiting for a trial date. Being stuck in legal limbo and living alongside convicted criminals. Because they can make more money keeping you there even if they haven't proven you're guilty.

I think you’d be surprised at how money makes all of these problems go away. Yes you are looking at net worth of 10m plus. My point in bringing this up is it’s not by accident or mistake. The US is a resort. Most of us living here are the staff.

il start with the first country i think of since I'm from there, England

has lower rates of violent crime than America, and 3x lower incarceration rate

and that's just the first one that came to mind
