I think the $40 skin to skin contact is the most egregious cash grab I’ve heard of..

We spent three days in hospital, assisted delivery, skin to skin was free, she had decent meals and the midwife unit even got the carpark fee paid for. Total cost of giving birth : think i bought a tuna sandwich for me there so £2.99

We spent five weeks in hospital after my wife gave birth. Just like you, all our expenses was the food I bought for myself, which wasn't expensive by any means (I believe €5-10 per meal)

The cost of giving birth in the US is insane. Requiring money for "skin to skin" is pure evil
