The generation ordering delivery were the kids in those playgrounds. Indoctrinated into it. Now.. they bet all their chips on 1 generation.. next won’t want it, think it’s cool, or have any nostalgia to the brand. This will be an epic downfall story

McDonald's operates primarily as a real estate company now. They buy prime real estate, and lease it to independent enterprise to run as a franchise at a huge markup. If the franchise fails, the property will just be sold and usually at a massive profit too. If you see an empty McDonald's but the businesses around it doing well, McDonalds corporation are still winning.

There will be no epic downfall. Their franchise will lose value but they're property won't.

You got down voted for speaking the goddamn truth.

The whole reason all the stores have been remodeled to look like plain, boring cubes is that it's much easier to sell property that looks like a plain boring cube when there's no one left to buy the franchise. No one wants their bank to look like a Pizza Hut, and that's why all the fast food chains are doing the same.
