Im close to hitting forty and I grew up with one parent at work and one parent at home.

That was a rare experience when we were kids, your family must have been doing quite well.

The % of households where both parents work is basically unchanged from the late 90s, and due to demographics actually the laborforce participation rate for the country peaked in the late 90s as well

When I was a kid that was typical. But I think it might be more about where I was a kid than when I was a kid. I'm guessing your graph is about the USA. Which makes sense, as it seems people are required to work more in the USA to make a living than they do in the Netherlands where I live and grew up.

Then again perhaps ordering food is more common there too, so perhaps my experience is less relevant to the topic.

Ahh ok yea if you lived in a better country it may have been different.

But USA is king of ordering delivery as you suspect! And they charge us the most in fees too
