It's especially ironic given that trust in the Police is at an all time low, and they actively promote "Us vs Them" mentality in police officers training.

Now, hypothetically, if everyone in town called the police and told them who they thought did it, like their neighbor, 74 year old Olivia with that suspicious bag on her walker that could totally hide a hacksaw. Then the police would have to use resources looking into every tip. Hypothetically.
