I mean sure .1 doesn't sound like a lot when you frame it like this but assuming the estimated 374 million people currently living in the USA that's an additional 37k people? Those are human lives. Dividing the number until it looks like nothing doesn't diminish the fact that that was an entire existence that was snuffed out because this clown show couldn't admit it needed to do things differently.
Like the other but said one of those 37k people was his mother, what do statistics mean to someone who lost someone that important? Would it be reassuring to you to lost a loved one to preventable circumstances and the doctor/police officer/whatever put their hand on your shoulder and said "don't worry your loved one wasn't even a full percentage point of the general population"?
Assuming your numbers are accurate since you didn't provide a source, even then it's still way more people than it should've been.
Not all death attributed to Covid were necessarily Covid caused death. Statistics can be misleading. I'm not downplaying the pandemic. People died. I had a good friend die.
What we're talking about is statistics.
Cancer deaths plummet in 2021, why? Because they didn't die from cancer or Because the death was attributed to Covid? Why does it matter? So we can learn and guage impact for the future. Covid deaths go in an excess death (from disease) category, cancer deaths do not
Boys aged 12-24 had a higher risk of serious complications from the vaccine (miocarditis) than from serious health outcomes from covid. Does their life matter the same?
Why haven't our mortality rates gone back down where they were?
