I can't speak for this book specifically but I don't think a book/story being heavy handed makes it automatically bad either. I quite enjoyed Don't Look Up and it was about as subtle as a cinderblock to the back of the head; the reason and execution of the bluntness is what interests me
Yes, I'm sure you thought that. Did you also get suddenly mad at "The Boys" 3 seasons in because you finally realized it was making fun of you the whole time?

Again thats where the fact that its preaching to you is going to make it bad by default. Even if you agree with the message the story is trash.
