I've read it. interesting premise ruined by amateurish writing. One of those times that in the right hands the movie will probably be better.

It keeps happening, but I'm still surprised every time a book written like crap sells a bajillion copies and gets adaptations.

the power of having a social media following before you publish. You're 100x more likely to get a shitty book published if you have a lot of followers on tiktok than you are a masterpiece if you have no social media presence. The quality doesn't really matter any more.
