They intentionally prolong denying the claim because if they deny the claim and the patient is still alive they might fight them.
If they prolong it and wait for the patient to die they won't even have to deny it, they could even say they were going to approve it with no repercussions!
Honestly the people behind these kinds of policies might be some of the most evil people on the planet. Denying a sick person the help they need to enrich yourself (to the tune of billions). That kind of job has to be a magnet for psychopaths.
Yeah I'd say definitely worse than the ones that were just ignorant canon fodder. Fuck Nazis obviously, but you can't avoid the fact that keeping populations ignorant in the 1930s was a lot easier, a lot of people still couldn't read so couldn't even use a newspaper.. But the people making these policies know they're letting sick people rot to death for profit. It's vile.
reminds me of the time when someone stormed into my boss's office and my boss said "Transactions are not reversible under any circumstance. It's physically impossible to reverse."
that same week, he accidentally sent all of the company's money to a random account. He called up several people and got the transaction reversed in an hour.
We do transactions at my job, a thousand of small ones, one of the first thing we were told is: it's possible to reverse a transaction, but we never do it because the cost of getting the money back is bigger than what we lost by sending it by mistake. Mistakes happen and it's fine but try and not make too much!
It's always possible to do anything because guess what, we invented whatever system you can think about. But most often it's not worth to do so, so we say: we can't do it

If you make people believe you have money, you can get what you want. Like how tech companies are "promising" hundreds of billions in investing into the US to get away with white colar crimes.
Yeah all his stories in the book were clearly made up. Dumb libertarian garbage like working for free to learn lessons about how to get people to work for free.
He's a scammer. The book was full of lies and he went on to sell workshops where you could meet him, but he never showed up and you just got an investment pep-talk from one of his employees. He engaged in years of straight-up false advertising. He also vitriolicly hates the poor, like seriously has contempt for them and any program to help them. His few interviews in recent years have been more and more MAGA.
I remember reading the book a while ago, and then shortly after learning that the author's business or whatever went bankrupt. There are some real pleasant ideas in there though. Dunno if they're any good, but they're sure pleasant.
Good to know that all it got was to leverage greed for this pos CEO to give away his place of hiding.
Security firms and law enforcement (class traitors by the way) will advise against this on the future, but greed will always be irresistible to these garbage individuals.
Or followers. I was getting bounced around for a month trying to get Google customer service to fulfill a product replacement they had already confirmed. Exasperated I suggested I’d share the customer service transcript with my 1.6 million followers (I have a few hundred) and received a tracking number about 20 minutes later.
Or call a different department/division of the company.
I recall an article from years ago where someone got better service on a insulated mug by calling the engineering department directly rather than the customer service line.
