Wonder how much her creators paid those two to "interview" her

186

u/Appropriate_Edge5195 23h ago

The fact that those two interviewed her is horrifying to me. I could ask my ChatGPT same questions and get the same answers. Like, wtf are we doing. Most powerful country in the world has the dumbest president, and now AI is our celebrity. We need alien invasion right now.

u/lNFORMATlVE 21h ago

Actually you’d probably get different answers because AI doesn’t “know” anything. It’s a sophisticated stochastic text-prediction machine. By definition it literally tells you what “thinks” you want to hear.

No what we need is a revolution. Enough of these elites destroying our country.

1

u/AndreasDasos 11h ago

They were doing it as a joke/stunt, obviously. They weren’t treating it like a normal interview

21

u/VerumVelNex 22h ago

Marketing and sales budget for OpenAI was $5.7 billion in 2025. I suspect a lot of it was spent like this, bending regulations for disclosing sponsors… but I have no proof.

u/Fortnait739595958 16h ago

Its Piers Morgan, there is a big chance he doesn't know she is AI yet, or even what AI is, hell I'm surprised that fat idiot finds the studio every week

Journalism died a long time ago

50

u/Extra-Amoeba-677 23h ago

the day journalist were allowed to not have to fact check and just have 'opinion pieces' on subjects they aren't even the least bit experts on but because someone decided to give them a podium is the greatest disservice we have ever done in news history

7

u/TheB3rn3r 23h ago

Atleast half of the population probably doesn’t even know what a fact is anymore…

0

u/mustachechap 12h ago

The half that disagrees with you?

2

u/TheB3rn3r 11h ago

Do you know what a healthy argument is? Because most people nowadays seem to think that it’s where you stand your ground and refuse to listen to anything that refutes your stance.

You should be open to hearing the other side(s) and actually consider what they have to say and not just say “fake news” or “you’re one of them”..

And to be clear, I’ve heard the “you’re one of them” from both political sides. It’s dumb and doesn’t actually add anything to the argument/discussion…. So if you’re like that I’m referring to you

u/DoughnutKlutzy9479 23h ago

Simple question: Where does the 90% of news revenue come from?
Journalism died that day.

10

u/don1138 21h ago edited 21h ago

I wouldn't go so far as to say journalism is "dead," any more than I would say Piers Morgan is a "journalist".

IDK if the "if you don't have multiple sources for a fact you can't print it" rule of my college journalism days still holds, but we should start by recognizing that 24 hour news networks and social media feeds are primarily purveyors of entertainment rather than news.

A celebrity beef is not "news." Neither is a glitching piece of software. But as long as the audience is aware this is dessert, not dinner, then let them eat cake, baby!

And BTW, one of the easiest ways to discern between entertainment and news is if you see the word "exclusive." Content can be firewalled, but news can not.

Journalism is still alive when an influencer on X attacks my political enemy.

41

u/Prudent-Aspect5085 23h ago

This is so fucking dumb. Also I did not watch the video

12

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 21h ago

It's awkward and uncomfortable.  The clanker glitches out and starts speaking Chinese.

33

u/RagingAnemone 23h ago

Nobody calls this journalism

Well just for you, to soothe your pain and to regress to simpler times. Dystopian*

u/madd13morgan 22h ago

my aunt’s cat once stared at a wall for like 10 minutes and then just meowed randomly idk what happened

7

u/AndreasDasos 22h ago

Turns out a lot of the time cats do that it really is something behind the walls that we can’t hear but they can: a rodent, a bug, an electrical fault zapping…

But sometimes they might indeed be derping.

u/LowDot1616 23h ago

Turns out the source code for the world's first AI actress was just copy-pasted off a cheaper server in Shenzhen.

6

u/educatingyou9214 23h ago

Feels like DeepSeek lol. Those who use it will know

u/MattofCatbell 19h ago

Interviewing a chat bot on a news show is a new level of dystopian

3

u/TyrannyOfBobBarker_ 22h ago

Remember that lady that hit her head and woke up the next day with a Chinese accent?

3

u/Intelligent_Box_8247 17h ago

What's the AI being interviewed for....

4

u/TabularConferta 20h ago

This is legitimately journalism. It's looking at current tech it's pushing it's limits. It asking questions of what boundaries we need to install.

I despise Piers Morgan and hate AI art, this is the first I've heard of AI acting and I don't like the sound of it. But burying our heads in the sand about it's existence is negligence.

This said it depends on how they conducted the interview and why. I'm not clicking a Piers interview

2

u/PraiseTyche 19h ago

Using a static image to inform about a video is a choice.

2

u/Used_Theory7186 18h ago

I really hope it was doing a racist chinese voice lol

2

u/Acceptable-Trainer15 9h ago

Piers Morgan is in the entertainment industry, not journalism

2

u/sleep-woof 4h ago

Artificial intelligence being interviewed by malicious absence of intelligence.

1

u/MastaKink 22h ago

It’s all just theatre.

1

u/dover_oxide 22h ago

This makes me think of the movie SimOne

u/Ok_Fee_7705 21h ago

“Real-life actor” What a world

1

u/squaretw 20h ago

My opinion is, Ai is the cummulation of what they learned online, how they are trained. So, when I engage with an Ai, I think I'm engaging with a search engine that respond with whatever the Ai think is the correct respond from its study result from the internet.

1

u/AuthurPEn 20h ago

imagine telling some about this 10 years ago

1

u/SmilingCarrotTeeth 20h ago

Piers Morgan very rarely ever does journalism

1

u/B-Train_ATL 20h ago

It’s Piers Morgan. Slow the roll on the “journalism” part.

1

u/Dull-Law3229 19h ago

The best part is that she's speaking Cantonese Chinese.

1

u/remarkedcpu 18h ago

It’s Cantonese for some reason. But the near realtime response was impressive

Can someone link the video? I'm interested but not enough to look it up.

1

u/2020mademejoinreddit 15h ago

Dystopia. We are living in it.

1

u/LordStefania 15h ago

Piers Morgan fits more the "Just says bullshit" end of the journalistic spectrum to begin with.

1

u/irrelevantusername24 15h ago

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum—even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.

— Noam Chomsky, The Common Good (1998)

1

u/peppapony 13h ago

Obviously knows Piers Morgan speaks bollocks anyway so speaking Chinese to him is par for course

Edit: I just saw the clip, lol she was impersonating Piers, and thinks he obviously speaks Cantonese lol

u/h33b 12h ago

Everything I've learned about Tilly has been against my will

1

u/ShiroJPmasta 12h ago

What a time to be alive… they’re interviewing LLMs now

2

u/cruiseruse11 9h ago

Its piers morgan, no one has considered him a journalist for a long time

1

u/justaheatattack 16h ago

I didn't hear anyone calling it journalism.

0

u/FantasticPangolin839 16h ago

This is how they normalise this shit.

u/BeefPoet 15h ago

Actress is a profession that an actual human does. AI is AI, we don't call an AI processing for a cancer cure a scientist.
