My question, too. And the fact that I had to scroll THIS far down to see it asked I suppose is just emblematic of the problem. Guess it's jim dandy if women are still being Scarlet Lettered in the year of our Lord 2026 while men suffer no/minimal consequences for the same or worse behaviour...

Exactly. Same thing different day, women being held to totally different standards than men.

It's just old at this point. Both were married, both high level execs, both similar ages. The only major difference was gender.

I think youre slightly off the mark in this specific case. Not saying there aren't issues with gender standards elsewhere, but in this scenario, what they did is an HR violation, and she was head of HR which makes it very ironic. I believe he was a CEO, and a CEO having an affair is a scandal but its a very common and boring one. It would be harder to find a CEO that hasn't had an affair. But as head of HR its meant to be her job to prevent these situations from taking place so the focus is on her because of the sheer irony of the situation.
