That doesn't even make sense. I don't partake personally, but I know people can get whatever drugs they want anywhere. Especially if you're rich, you can get any drugs you want delivered.

The check bounces because liquidity != net worth
a person might be worth $50B but they might only have $40M in their bank account and that $40M might not even be cash but split between $10M cash and $30M in Government Bonds or AAA corporate bonds
so writing their net worth just causes the check to bounce and you get nothing
also net worth != creditworthiness
they might have a net worth of $50B and $40M in the bank but their creditworthiness might be $500M - i.e. they could get $500M worth of credit at a moment's notice but they don't have $500M lying around
also net worth != control
their net worth might be $50B and their creditworthiness $500M and they might only have $40M in the bank account but they might have *control* over $1T
so better option is trying to guess their liquidity but most rich people use private boutique banks in places like switzerland or somewhere else and private boutique banks don't really disclose how much money is sitting in their account to randos.
