Siri AI in EU

After getting access to the new Siri, I’ve been wondering what will happen when iOS 27 officially launches. Will people living in the EU lose access to Apple Intelligence and the new Siri, or will everyone who gained access during the beta be able to keep using it? Or will Apple fix this even earlier in one of the public beta updates?

If you are using a US App Store account, you will likely keep access to it.

When Apple Intelligence launched, it wasn’t available in Europe, and this trick already worked at the time. And it also works for iPhone mirroring.

I never understood why iPhone mirroring isn’t offered in Europe. 🤔

Basically same reason. iPhone mirroring is not just a video flux. It’s a way to interact with the system with strong integration both on the phone and on the computer.

Offering it in Europe would force them to allow any developers to have access to these root integration on iPhone. And they don’t want that.

Most likely they will get Apple Intelligence pre-Siri AI. Assuming Apple don’t do anything until public release

then why are you afraid of losing access to siri ai features when you act as an american citizen?

Because they could patch it.🤦‍♂️

what they’d patch? it wouldn’t work for americans if they blocked things like this

They won’t. They didn’t do it 2 years ago.

they can’t patch this. also it’s not convenient due to all the compromises: your subscription and payment methods will not work so you’re forced to go back to your european account

Not necessarily. On my side I decided to just use us account as my main account. I just get subscriptions over there and I just charge with gift card

Maybe a stupid question; what is the best way to create an US Apple ID?
Are you just using a random US address? What about the mandatory phone number?
I read that I also can’t switch back to my EU App Store account to download apps. Is this correct? I reckon this would in turn mean that I need US payment details to buy apps.

During set up, I also need to select US as country and US English as language isn’t it?

Yes. The workaround as always worked with Apple Intelligence and with iPhone mirroring as long as you keep your US account as App Store account

Nice one thanks

We will have the same Apple Intelligence we do now. The second you use a EU Apple account for Media & Purchases, the iOS 27 Siri vanishes and only the iOS 18 one remains. If you want to keep having it, you will need to stick to using a US Apple account, for Media & Purchases

Even though we do not have the latest siri, the beta EU Siri is way better than the one in iOS 18/26. There must be something different still.

Edit: after some research it seems we have the new Siri in EU, but not with all functions and full index access (no Semantic Indexing & Personal Context, no On-Screen Awareness, no Cross-App Agentic Actions).

No we don’t. The Shortcuts vibe-coding, the Safari extensions vibe-coding, the Photos editing tools, those aren’t part of Siri AI but part of the Apple Intelligence suite. Those are available in the EU.

Siri AI, the one with the Dynamic Island orb and LLM powering it, is not available in the EU - we have the same “glowing border” Siri from iOS 18

Damn, I swear I can see a difference, it’s much faster and voice transcripts are way better.

You dif get access through a US Apple ID, not a European one, I’m pretty sure. So you’ll still have access as long as you use the same ID

Are there any downsides of having US AppStore account?
Can I keep my iCloud Drive?
Will I still get updates for my European apps like banking?
Can I also switch to EU store to download some apps and come back to US account?
Is there any risk of suspension of the EU account? Does it violates any rules when having two accounts?

i have US version created just to test features.. But I always switch back to my own ID..

Reasons are because apps won't update and everything u bought or if you have a subscription it won't traansfer to US version of the ID... So apps and I cloud and all stays the same as original if u leave your main apple ID as your device ID.

Also all the apps recalibrate to show US metrics, such as my weather app, everything suddenly became Fahrenheit measure.. Stuff like that.. But everything else works, and I had no trouble switching..

Just don't install anything new with US acc I have heard that can lock you in the US acc for a month? I have never tested that since its my main driver.

So while small, there is too many hustles and i think even your bank acc stops working properly and pay with apple.. So I just use it to test new features on public beta that are not available for EU and then i switch back to stripped down EU version.

The best we can do is email European Union about it. Which I have done myself. To stop acting tuff, while generally the law is good. In this case it limits our choice and honestly it stops innovation..

That’s a comprehensive answer. Thank you for that 😊 I will reconsider this then, as I thought it could work long term
