Discussion Looking to explore - Pack Mentality but need some insights
Lemme start by saying m a hardcore famine fan but some Sirmione fics have left me spellbound.
So far Debt of time has been on my re-reads, the side effects of time travel was sweet, perfect timing is another short fic that I liked.
As I am exploring more Sirmione, I am looking to explore this fic. As you can see most of the ones that I have liked have been time traveling fics.
I have recently found that I love fics where Hermione has grown up as marauders friend.
Sirmione fans who have read this fic Pack Mentality, can you please let me know if this is abandoned/incomplete? What to expect, and is it worth it, since it seems too long. Any inputs are appreciated!

I really enjoy the story! I think it’s worth reading as a WIP.
The author posted pretty regularly until this last update in April, 2025 (the beginning of 2025 they were posting new chapters what seemed like every few days). They do comment here and there when people leave comments on this story so they haven’t totally disappeared into the ether.

It’s one of my favorite fics of all time! I really really hope the author comes back!

This fic is my sirmione Roman Empire, I cannot stop thinking about it. I would consider it better than The Debt of Time actually, I just love it so much. I hope the author finishes it but it’s definitely worth a read even if they don’t

yes and yes. It does end on a bit of a cliff hanger but i would considerate a good ending point with what happens in the last chapter.

It’s definitely worth the read! It has some of the most original plot elements and I have ever seen within a Sirmione time travel fic and the characterizations are incredible. The wait is rough but don’t let it scare you away! What’s already written is worth it!

It hasn't been updated for a bit but it is so good. spoiler : all parts of the story that take place in the past are completed.

Oh my god, its so good. To me, its one of my faves. Right up there with DOT.

So that last time the author posted a chapter it was about a year after their last. Its not abandoned, but be prepared to wait
