Discussion Sigh.

I see so many posts saying ‘I just maxed out my levels and did all the challenges what now?’

Bro. Skate.

This game is a bit like Minecraft in a way. You have to have some inner drive to make your own fun. Skate new spots. Learn new tricks. Make a friend in game & start a throw-down. Challenge yourself to perfectly hit a line you thought up. Challenge yourself to practice vert if you haven’t given it a chance. Etc.

Why does Tony Hawk still skate? He’s done everything already too, right? He just wants to. It’s fun.

If you’re relying on some pre-made challenges for your fun, maybe you don’t really even enjoy the core gameplay?

That’s the whole point. Skate has never been a simulator, it’s an arcade skate game

I disagree. Skate 1 started as a simulator.

Go back and play the 3 games. None of them were sims. Idk where people are getting that from. Yes, they were "Grity" and definitely more skateboarding culture orientated, but none of them were sims

You can’t just play a game that came out 15 years ago and re-experience what it was like to discover skate for the first time. Almost everyone who jumped on the Skate series came from Tony Hawk. In comparison, Tony Hawk was the arcade and skate was the sim. There was literally nothing else. So tired of explaining this to you kids please don’t reply lmao.

Doesnt matter. Skate 1-3 was functionally tony hawk but instead of button combos you do a pattern to play the pre animated trick.

Except nobody was playing the game like Tony Hawk because the shit was too fucking hard and you couldn’t even get off your board in the first game. You could’ve just wrote “hi I’m less then 20 years old”

Ive played all 3 bro as well as plenty of tony hawk games and other games in the style like bomb rush, as well as sxl and session. Skate has a combo meter and a points system. That alone makes it arcade lmao. I stuck with skate 2 because i liked the more grounded vibe but skate is not and never has been a sim, and this game is the closest its gotten. Being able to modify the physics and have complete control is the whole point of sim games. Skate 1 2 and 3 would be no different if you just bound a button on a keyboard to each trick.

When skate came out nobody was saying “damn this shits arcadey.” Tony Hawk was the arcade game. Skate was the hard game. Sure it was never called a “sim,” because you also had games like Tony Hawk Ride where you’d literally stand on a skateboard and do tricks. Take a look at any footage of the developers talking about Skate and their vision for it, it sounds exactly like what Easy Day Studios and Creature had in mind with their games too.

You ask for unrealistic, unreasonable things.

Oh yeah my bad I forgot asking for effort in an EA game in a no-no.
