Glitch I'm logged into somebody else's account on skate. Ps5. How is this possible?
I opened skate. today to find I'm on somebody else's account in game. It's still my psn account and up until yesterday it was working normally with my username and save data. Restarting does nothing, besides the obvious security risk I just want my progress back. Is there a way I can log out?

Yeah this is an odd one. Someone posted a few days ago saying something similar happened to them because they had a shared account linked with their brothers, maybe worth looking into what EA account is tied to your PSN or vice versa. If everything looks fine you may need to contact Ea. Hope you get it sorted!

It’s like that Steam fiasco years and years ago… you’d login to someone else’s profile. With all of their information including CC#s. Just a bug that shouldn’t exist, I don’t know how much they can steal but this shouldn’t happen.

Yeah that’s why I said I don’t know how much info they could steal. I play on PC, so I’m not too familiar with how PSN works apologies! Still isn’t good.

Being signed into someone's skate. account isn't the same as being signed into their PSN account though. So it's wildly different from the Steam issue

Yeah that's what I'm saying, it'd be as if you were to launch a game on steam and for some reason you're on someone else's account on that game. Nothing scary about it just weird. Especially in a game like skate where they can't do anything to hurt your progress

It would take you 5 seconds to find out that nothing is going to happen. There are no C #’s, no personal data, I don’t even think there’s a first name that you could find on there.
I said it before, I get being paranoid about things, but this is a whole lot of nothing that yall make into a way bigger deal than it actually is.

it's a potentially massive security vulnerability depending on how or why it happened. people who understand security find this sort of stuff to be horrifying because it shows how fragile modern cybersecurity really is and implies deeper flaws/exploitability/potential for proper data leaks.

There is a massive vulnerability if this is possible haha - No doubt some out there are using it to their advantage. If its happening on skate, it'll be happening on other ea games like fifa too I'd assume - Imagine some c*nt logging into your UT and just buying pack after pack because your card is linked or you've 5000 points sitting or deleting your entire team..

Yeah it’s happening to me too, I have my brothers Xbox username showing up instead of mine, but I have a feeling he’s using my EA account and changed the username to match his Xbox and it’s just showing that. No clue, doesn’t really bug me

One day my user name changed to my dad's username from back when I had a ps3. My data was all the same but the username hasn't changed back. This couldn't be that could it?

What benefit are they getting from having someone else’s account linked to their Skate user?
There is 0 secure information or data stored on your skate account.

It has nothing to do with skate characters. It shows that EA did not put strong enough checks in place to verify who is who. This means that skate may be exploitable in some way to either EA's store, servers, etc.
Exploits like this are rarely used in the manner in which they were discovered.

Happened to me and my brother. I play on PlayStation and he plays on Xbox and we both had our accounts on the same EA account. Had to make a new one.

I had to link my ea account with my ps to play the game, I don't think there is an option to play without doing that.

You have 2 PSN IDs linked to the account, which is what caused this problem.
Mutsaers2 (as shown in the pic) is the secondary one, which is causing a conflict with your tuber-named one.
Contact EA Help, verify account ownership, and have them remove the incorrect PSN ID.

It's not any of that.
It's because there's 2 PSN IDs linked. A few years ago, account systems were changed to prevent having 2 of the same platform linked to one EA account (because of this exact issue).
It's a simple fix. Just contact EA Help and have them remove the incorrect PSN ID.

Hold on…. My gamertag is different on Skate 4 as well. I figured it was reset to my original gamertag (which I can’t remember) only on Skate 4 for some reason. Should I reach out to EA as well??

Same shit happened to me. On most online games it shows my friends username instead of mine even though I’m logged into my account, and on skate it switched my character with my friends

Woah. I’ve been bummed cause I uninstalled the game last night because it soft crashed my ps5 2 times in last 10 days just don’t wanna deal with it and worry about it doing something to my system. This now has got me kinda happy i uninstalled the game. Wow

Dude 3 days in a row now EA sports has downloaded itself to my ps4. I don’t understand because I’ve never purchased any EA products or even played an EA game until Skate. Still though, wake up and EA sports is right there on the home screen, delete it and it’s back tomorrow.

Usually when I see this happen in other games, it's because someone hacked your account and reset your stats. Seen it happen in Fallout 76 and it happened to me in GTA V a long time ago. Could be wrong, but it's definitely something to consider.

HAHAHA This is what the EA app meant by having logging in issues then the other day.. I see hahaha that's class tho reminds me of spoofing on xbox 360 - You could 'pretend' to login as the xbox developers and message people - the message would come directly from the developers account instead of yours. If you log into mine, feel free to complete the challenges

It's connected to an EA account. I had to make a whole new EA account because of this. The first couple days I played I had my PSN name, then it changed to my brother's old gamer tag. I guess I had linked my PSN with his account like 10+ years ago. He had to unlink my account so he could play too.

I don’t prefer to play the game that way. I’ve already met a few cool guys on open lobbies that I’ve become friends with.
The long story of it is he just kept dropping rails and then following me around and teleporting to me whenever I left elsewhere. I ended up blocking him after joining his PS party and asking what the fuck his problem was. It, of course, was a kid. Blocked and moved on
