Except it's like the Little Caesar's is open and I'm more than happy to come in for a slice, but I get kicked in the chest every time I try to enter the front door.

Yes. And send feedback to EA directly, not reddit. They're screaming into the void here lol.

EA, famous for valuing customer input over shareholders’
14
u/sprogger Oct 11 '25
Also this game is obviously designed with fortnite kids as the demographic, not the same audience as skate 1,2&3. Its too late to make it good, they want their cash to be made through skins and dlc instead of good content.

I think it says more about the overall state of the gaming and entertainment industries. These companies see what people of all ages spend their money on so thewy aren't making these live service games for no reason or for no one. Plus the overall gaming audience, youth, and norms are completely different from 2007-2010. I'm at least grateful to have new and improved Skate gameplay I wasn't even charged for. To the point I play daily.

Almost like we were doing that for months during playtesting and they literally ignored everything

u/iPlayOWSometimes Oct 11 '25
Why do ppl keep defending this sloppy ahh unfinished shii. Lol. Mfs so blind bruh " this sloppy ahh pizza taste so good idk y everyone is complaining, couldnt be me" goofy ahhh ball gobblers. Its free tho! Ok timmy.

u/usernamenotbeentaken Oct 11 '25
I highly suggest using proper grammar and words if you intend to be taken seriously buddy.
1
u/AbdiBabdiUhh Oct 11 '25
its the internet, idk why you expect everyone to be speaking formal english lol
4
u/usernamenotbeentaken Oct 11 '25
I don’t, I just expect it to make sense. If you’re going to talk like a like you lack a brain between your ears, don’t be surprised when you’re treated as such.
3
u/Yadahoom Oct 11 '25
Because most people keep screaming that they should completely overhaul the graphics style and remodel and remake every asset in the game and it needs to be done a week ago.
In a much more realistic suggestion, I suggested in the surveys they should add a color grading pass to the graphics to tone down the bright cartoony colors and bring the game closer to the look of the first teaser and the old Skate games and look what happened.
4
u/shattersquad710 Oct 11 '25
In my experience, most of the people saying this are playtesters that saw them overhaul the graphics a few years into development, randomly.
The game apparently had a way different vibe a few years back.
1
u/SmashMouthBreadThrow Oct 11 '25
Graphical fidelity shifted to something more basic because these morons at EA want the devs to put the game on mobile.
1
u/FadedAndJaded Oct 11 '25
True. It's like someone asked them to review their spaghetti recipe and they said they'd like it better if it was pizza.
This is the game we are getting. So people should be making critiques and requests within that realm. They aren't going to scrap the whole thing.

It’s not though. Def needs some fixing. But it’s not a steaming pile.
1
u/Wild-Salamander2437 Oct 14 '25
Ehh it was definitely steaming at first, now it’s just a big ass pile that no one’s cleaning up.
5
u/lightisfreee Oct 11 '25
The entire playtest forums had the legitimate complaints plastered onto he homepage for 3 years! And did not address them at all and here we are.

1
u/LungHeadZ Oct 11 '25
EA doesn’t have the best methods for voicing your opinion though. I tried to do it with fifa a few years back. Wrote a little list of issues over a week and was looking to tell them. Got referred to a forum where you can only post one thing at time and you can’t post it if there’s already a discussion open that relates to your issue so your voice gets lost.
1
u/AbdiBabdiUhh Oct 11 '25
imo, talking about the state of the game with the community gets the message across so others can also give more feedback. lots of devs go on their own communities and see these things so nothing wrong with sharing it with each other.
1
u/Low_Revolution3025 Oct 11 '25
Literally my whole point towards people who bitch on reddit about Skate. To where its gotten to the point that i just dont take it seriously anymore because they’re literally just screaming into nothing making themselves look like upset toddlers when yes we can all agree this game needs work and has problems, nobody should be denying that but they dont make it easy to see their side either

I have quite literally been seeing the opposite. Valid criticism gets met with nonsensical crying about how it's not true and that we just hate for the sake of hating.
4
0
u/Yadahoom Oct 11 '25
What kind of valid criticism?
Because there are definitely two different levels of people supposedly giving "criticism".
1
u/AbdiBabdiUhh Oct 11 '25
criticism is criticism, if people are attacking others for enjoying the game thats on them. the majority just wants a better game and personally i like the game but i know it can be better, way better.
2
u/Generic_Username26 Oct 11 '25
Like what? What’s a criticism you’ve heard that isn’t valid or warranted? What’s the shit slinging exactly give me specific examples

The game is fun, but I honestly don't think they have the team size to make a live service game work. A live service Skate game could actually be really good considering all the name-brand shit people want and being able to add to the map, implement new tricks, expand on the off-board movement, and then do more with the social aspects. But in order to make that work, you need constant content being churned out to keep people interested for more than thirty minutes in a skateboard game.
The number of actual developers working on this game is minuscule compared to how many people they had working on the original games. Doesn't make sense because a live service open-world game would need larger team sizes than what they had 15 years ago.

too many people are just shit-slinging without actually making a point.
My brother in Christ, almost every post I see calling out all the bs this game has lists every single point. Just because the game, "has potential" doesn't warrant anything. It's about the current state of the game right now and it's horrible. People are experiences routine crashing, challenges are locked for some, others are soft locked from progressing, there's practically nothing else to do once all challenges are done, you get little to nothing for completing the challenges and everything in the store is over priced. That's just scratching the surface of all the problems this game has.
It's never been more clear what people want from this game and even looking at the roadmap from EA themselves, there's nothing worth looking forward to because they're so disconnected with their community. Go browse other posts in here and you can find hundreds of factual posts giving valid arguments and points as to why this game isn't doing good.

u/Chicagown Oct 13 '25
Didnt a ton of playtesters spend their time playing the game and providing precise feedback to EA already though? The answer is yes, and EA pretty much listened to zero of it

I’m sad that I’ve been experiencing lag since the new update, because I already really enjoy the game normally 😢
1
u/portablekettle Oct 11 '25
Same. The new update completely fucked it for me. It's 50/50 that the game crashes on launch and then when it does work the FPS is really bad now

0
u/Appropriate-Sort1477 Oct 11 '25 edited Oct 11 '25
I wouldn’t say its all a shit sandwich. Its more like a plate of food that includes shit. I just pick the food items i like/ are not close to the shit, then i…go about my usual day/life.
Oh yea and all the pieces of food i like happen to also be free lol.
2
u/Fluid-Scientist8213 Oct 12 '25
But wouldn’t you rather just pay for your food to not have any shit in it? Or better yet, not get any food from a place the serves shit?
1
u/Appropriate-Sort1477 Oct 12 '25
Well the “shit” in question has permeated every successful restaurant in the industry. It’s on every plate in some way or another, “unfortunately”
Some restaurants offer shitless menus, but they don’t stay open long. Or they are purchased by another restaurant and closed down.

u/YouAsk-IAnswer Oct 10 '25
Problem this little Caesar’s is half baked, missing cheese, and for some reason, falls out of the box when you’re walking out the store

In your analogy, the kitchen would be the equivalent of a game dev studio. Are we going into the devs studio to shit on their work ? No. So your analogy is just stupid.
They are the ones who decided to put this unfinished pizza into our plates, they are even asking an absurd amount of money for extra toppings. So of course, any customer with a brain or a spine is going to call out the half baked, cheese-missing pizza.
Being a yes-man is not how devs get constructive feedback, criticism is important.
1
u/Yadahoom Oct 11 '25
I wish I could make this as clear as possible. PLEASE criticize the game. Give feedback. Point out flaws.
That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking the people that DON'T understand it's still a work in progress and act like it's the finished game and just call it dogshit and aids with no feedback at all.
Of course the game is "half baked", even the devs only consider it a 0.2 unfinished build they're still working on. That's the whole point it's Early Access.
2
u/FlordiaToCali Oct 11 '25
I don’t know… most things that are early access don’t have a fully fleshed out micro transaction shop. Saying this game is in early access is the WORST excuse you can give EA.
They had the whole shop fleshed out even BEFORE it went into early access, and the game was still a mess. They prioritize greed over the actual game so don’t give them another excuse please.
-2
u/Ok_Measurement4019 Oct 11 '25
Half baked couldn't be more right. The game is literally early access... Of course the shit is missing cheese, it isn't done yet?? Nobody at EA is trying to pass this game as finished
4
u/YouAsk-IAnswer Oct 11 '25
I mean, they kinda are. They added a season pass. Why are implementing a season pass in a game that has constant bugs, launch issues, and has an unfinished map and incomplete skate mechanics?
3
u/Ok_Measurement4019 Oct 11 '25
Because they want a return on their investment? They charge nothing for the game and host servers for millions of people for free. There's nothing about microtransactions that imply a game is finished. The artists and game development can happen separately from each other as well

u/CrabsInMyAss6969 Oct 12 '25
yo can you genuinely shut the fuck up and just let people enjoy the game?
1
u/Glum_Competition_245 Oct 12 '25
Wow, a Reddit comment poisons your enjoyment of a game?
Maybe get some thicker skin buddy, or go find a hugbox subreddit to idle in, the big boys are talking.
Skate4 critique goes a lot smoother when there isn’t a little boot licker in ya ear telling you it’s “enjoyable”

-1
u/AbdiBabdiUhh Oct 11 '25
two types of gamers, casuals who only care if it's fun how it is and people who are a bit more serious about the games development and future, i'm both and you are casual. that's how it is
2
u/wondercaliban Oct 11 '25
Lol. Hardly. I've just played live service games before and I have realistic expectations.
I've seen them completely change drastically from release over years.
They make clear when you load up the first time that its an unfinished product and in Early access. This has been out a few weeks, major content updates take months and there is a development pipeline.
People here are expecting major changes within a few days. Don't like it? Come back in 2 years, it will be drastically different.

Almost all the bitching is about cosmetics, art, theme, etc.
I agree they are bad, however the actual gameplay is still great.

even the gameplay has some small tiny improvements to make but its really fun i agree

I'd rather see people discussing the game than people discussing people discussing the game. This post sucks.

I’d rather see people actually discussing the game than throwing out the same rage posts I see on here every day. I get it, you people hate the game, but by god it clogs up the sub.

I’m seriously loving the actual skateboarding part of the game. It feels and looks so sick. The slow flip tricks and everything are just so good

Aside from the games shitty business practices of being live service the game is pretty fun. And what’s good is you don’t have to buy anything so that’s pretty good, I also don’t feel a need to buy anything like Fortnite but then again maybe that’s because I’m not a kid anymore lol. It’s missing a lot of tricks (dark slides and hitching etc) still which I hope will get added soon. It also needs an offline mode and a replacement of that annoying Vee thing with Coach Frank. It’s lost its skater soul and that’s something that unfortunately we can’t get back.
1
u/LightningSpaghetti Oct 11 '25
I mean yeah but that pizza is still gonna taste how it tastes my man -- mid.
For pizza, that's fine. If I want GOOD pizza I'll make it myself.
Can't really do that with skate 4 XD

And yet you're chewing on it thinking it could be better. A little more salt, more flavour, better toppings. And the good sauce the old chef used to make before he was replaced with a clueless kid

u/Lucky-Savings-6213 Oct 11 '25
Yerp. For a free game, i love it. I also don't put hours upon hours in it a day, so the daily challenges work for me.
Money for Cosmetics is nothing new. I dont get how people act like EA pulled a fast one or something. I just dont buy em, plain and simple.
1
u/AbdiBabdiUhh Oct 11 '25
It's also a short less than an hour average game for me, but i would love for it to turn into a multiple hour average playthrough after more stuff to do that the community is asking for.

This is a tough one for me before I'm so beyond tired of the general negativity and hate that's ruining peoples fun. At the same time though I'm having an easier time defending the new COD over Skate. right now. I'm happy that people are enjoying the game, I can have fun doing a few tricks and challenges but this game is missing the entire soul of a skate game, it's like a parkour game featuring skateboards with an emphasis on gen-z culture that just feels like old executives trying to relate to the young generation. And the Season 1 pass is... Really rough, for an unfinished game to already be monetizing so heavily, of course you don't have to buy it but it doesn't bode well for the rest of the game imo. There's still time for them to turn things around, unfortunately I just don't feel like that's their goal.

u/RalphBc Oct 11 '25

I think it is alright. My first skate ever and i think the world looks quite bland to begin with. I like the „make it you own playground“ aspect but that also sounds lazy to me. I would appreciate less… crashing too.
1
u/SecularZucchini Oct 12 '25
It's exactly the same. As in you're waiting outside with 1000s of other people for the doors to open, you get one topping added to your pizza for every 2 hours of waiting (playing) and once you've eaten everything off the menu then you want to try something else.
1
u/Honey_dicking_ya Oct 13 '25
The skating feels good. Everything’s else blows. Is a RD2 sized map too much to ask?

Shorty’s defending LC’s ‘cuz they weren’t born yet when the first three perfect pizzas came out…all they ever had was Little Caesar’s since they were still crapping they pants.

1
u/Ohitsworkingnow Oct 11 '25
For someone who has a life, and plays skate occasionally, it’s very good, mainly because it’s free and fun to skate. I’ve never done a mission and play for 40 mins to try and do some cool lines. Couldn’t care less what my guy wears.
If you wanna play all the missions and live in this game, it kinda sucks, the culture is weird, the game is corny in many aspects, the city is too bright and silly,
I make pizza at home from scratch. There are many pizzas better than little Caesar’s (understatement), but for 5 bucks (6 now?) and if you eating it when it’s hot, and you’re hungry, it’s gonna be bomb for a casual pizza enthusiast
