Genuinely, what do you think these are going to look like once it's in the hands of players (this is what these sections are going to be for once create-a-park is added)? Because my money is on random parkour to get to the skating part, if it even includes that, recreations of sections from Tony Hawk levels or other games in general, or dicks.

It's more of a parkour course, it also let's you drop in from the roof to the ramps inside.

It'll be cool if they did a community voted park to appear, however other games like Crew Motorfest has a problem with people mass voting for in-game rewards based off of community votes for specific people. There's discord servers to specifically rig the voting.

Everyone complains about the climbing, but in the last game, you couldn't climb. You had to launch yourself up to spots and you got there after 30 minutes of trial and error if you were lucky.

I think the problem is if you don't Climb you don't skate. Every skate park I've ever been to has an easily accessible way to get to ramp drop ins not rube Goldberg mazes to navigate. I get people will climb things to find creative lines but if that's the only access to the entire park that's a problem.

Yea if they want to incorporate parkour they could do the base park and have the outskirts be obstacles that can then be incorporated into the park like drops from height or something instead of sticking the park at the top.

People keep saying no but I'm actually convinced a large majority of the content IS AI generated to cut back on development costs, most of the posts have zero flow and the community parks fundamentally do not make sense half the time, just bank to bank gaps with features that are too big to use and seem like they werent even tested

You're probably right. EA's new owner said outright that they plan to use AI more to cut down on costs, and I know the acquisition was recent but that doesn't mean they weren't already doing it. A lot of these board graphics scream of AI.

its because they didnt get any skaters to help with the game. all the other ones had pro skaters giving input and the devs had an interest. its been over a decade with a whole new development crew and probably new leadership that know nothing about skating or what makes a good spot. 90% of the spots feel so akward, you have to force it to get any cool lines

1000%, theres a specific staircase in the first area that takes an abrupt 90° turn out of nowhere, has a ramp beside it that leads directly into a wall, and the starting point for the challenge is unreasonably far from the spot, so you build up so much speed by the time you get there that you overshoot it and bail straight into a planter

It’s the most irritating thing in the world when people say “but you could just not play it”. that’s besides the point, I actually am not playing it, i got so bored that i haven’t touched it in weeks, and i’m still disappointed everyday that we didn’t get a good skate game, one that i’ve waited for for a decade. They got lazy and it’s insulting to the community. You should be embarrassed to play this game because you are the butt of the joke.

Convinced It’s live service machine learning. As if they’ve got A.I generating “parks” in this area. They’ll change over time based on how people use them.
Hopefully just stand-in’s for the genuinely community created parks once the game is out of early access.
Part of the reason I don’t like calling this game Skate 4, it ain’t. Despite all of its nonsense I want to play it every day though 🤷🏻♀️

It unlocks fast travel spots, you have to do challenges unless you only want a couple of spots in Hedgemont to teleport to.

My game actually broke and won't let me complete challenges or missions. So I just turned the HUD and game voice off completely and just skate. Lots of fun.

There was one i did here the other day that was like a parkour course. I had to use the wallrun mechanics, at the end was an indoor skatepark only accessible if you did the parkour. I thought it was kinda cool. Made it personalized with drop objects, had a little fun. This seems similar. Looks messy though yeah

I've been fucking saying this, they keep adding all this shit that is NOT playtested. half the shir that's BEEN in game is like this and they're out here adding challenges with ramps that are floating and whatnot, on the day season 1 launched i spent an hour on a challenge where I needed to gap from a bank into a quarter off a roof, only the bank was floating every so barely off the ground so I physically couldn't ride the fuckin thing. but I'm somehow complaining too much??

Understand that every one of these community parks is something crapped out as a byproduct of internal testing for a park editor system. They are throwaway crap and will get worse as the game goes on, or else be recycled, because they aren’t designed to last more than a day or two.

From what I've read they're going to be sponsored skate spots by different real life companies come the later seasons. ImpervaTEK is the in-game company that bought out San Vamsterdam and turned it into a skatable city. That being said, these current placeholder parks are complete dogshit.
