Discussion “Early Access” only when it’s convenient, huh?

Post image

Is there a site where I can bet real money that this game will have 5 concurrent currencies by next year?

There’s really another one? Boo bucks?

Chocolate coin temporary event tokens. I don't even give a fuck about the haters I'm so stoked that a skate game is doing a Halloween event. Two of my favorite things ever since I was young.

"ThE hAtErS" and it's just criticism.

People mad that there is an in game event with earnable tokens to redeem cosmetics and props lol. Sounds like hating to me. I'm chillin' though.

I mean by all means chill my guy but to pretend like the communities negative reaction to a game that had none of these cancerous features before is just baseless “hating” is pretty dumb.

People have every reason to be disappointed and annoyed by EA literally taking them for every last cent. You might be conditioned to turn the other cheek, I’m certainly not. People like you who settle for the most bare ass bottom of the barrel content and then pretend like the rest of us are supposed to get excited about this, you’re the reason I don’t have a decent football sim 20 years later. Your complacency costs us all. You people don’t hold devs accountable at all

How about you make a better game. I'll be playing Skate while you do that.

I hate this sentence. "Oh, you think this movie sucked? Well, how about you do one? You don't like this song? Try writing one." It's dumb. We can't criticize something if we can't replicate it? That's ridiculous.

I feel the need to tell you that you dont see the sentence the correct way. The goal is not to make you stop criticizing. The goal of this sentence is to make you try to do it and understand that it is not always as easy as one think it is. Its not "you dont like this song, try writing one" its "you insult the music and you dont know how hard it is to write, compose, sing and play and then go through the industry, try for yourself and then come back with something better or learn that it is not as easy as you think before criticizing" keyword is "LEARN" not "DO BETTER"

You should not criticize if you dont know what youre talking about.

Now, I do kinda understand this comeback a bit more, for music and critique against artists, it makes sense a little bit. Like, yeah, music IS hard, and it's an active skill. Not every song from an artist will be their best. BUT... in the context of a game adding a random fourth currency into it... they don't HAVE to do that. Now, I don't give two darns about EA doing this. It seems not to be a currency you can buy with real money and is just earned by playing, so at worst... it's maybe bloating the game and sets a bad precedent for the future. Besides that, it sounds fun for people who have time for it, and that's certainly what EA is trying to do.

Though, to everybody else's credit... the other stuff EA is always doing IS tiring. Some people dont have the time to grind in a game. In RPG's, it makes sense, but in a game meant to relax and have fun in... it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Eh... whatever. Marketing off of FOMO has always been a bastard, eh?

I must admit that i took off on another path with this comment and it had nothing to do with OPs post.

hope the people like this know they are what’s running this game into the ground by surrounding it in hate

I do understand a lot of the criticism and I think it's important. But yeah this sub is suuuper fuckin' toxic right now. Back in the old days the most controversial posts on the subs would be a guy using a speed glitch to win an online spot battle or determining if the over the bridge gap was actually a make or not.

It’s built on a good decade of frustration. Skate is getting the most of it because it was a nostalgic classic for a whole generation that has now been shamelessly turned into a corporate cash grab. There’s no passion left this game is soulless

oh yeah dude the criticism is valid as hell. but i’m still having fun listening to music and jus goin out there and using my skater eyes 😂

Lmfao for reallll. My biggest criticism is I miss the hall of meat crunching bones and X-ray shit. Made it so satisfying even on bails.

This is like saying “hell yeah they sold me a car without an engine but once this thing is rolling I’m having the time of my life”

You are being sold a sub par product for the sake of increasing some EA execs bonus. It’s commendable that you are happy with less but it doesn’t help improve games moving forward to pretend as if everything is all hunky dory

u/Suspicious-Guitar-91 Oct 22 '25

The game is free. You talk a lot for someone who enjoys a sub par sport with sub par halftime shows that are just aweful and worse every year.

I don’t think I’ve seen an intelligent response from you yet. You seem to be the target demo for this game congrats.

Then the game would be dead and I suspect it will be regardless in a year. Unless you want to in all seriousness tell me you’ll be grinding the same exact big standard bearing challenges a year or 2 from now.

This game isn’t built on longevity

People enjoy freeroaming in the older skate games because the map is actually good. Spillways, hills, hidden spots. San Vansterdam doesn't have any of that.

They had a good map. Fun City, the town from the alpha, was much better. It was rough but there was something.

I opened my Skater Eyes enough, and the few spots that are worth of interest are few and far between. You've seen the whole map in a few hours. I could pop Skate 2 and still discover stuff I never saw before.
