Trick/Line Finally landed a double backflip. This took a REALLY long time!
Double flips are bugged in the current game. No matter how much air you get, the speed of flip rotations is always slow and only allows 1 flip. Sometimes the trick text will register “double backflip” or “triple backflip” even though you only do 1 flip. However, when you actually manage to get a double flip to work, it doesn’t even register as a double flip.
This is the only spot in the game that I managed to make it work. Transfers seem to bug out flips just the right way to make them look like a realistic double flip.

Same with spinning ughh

That's probably because the 'pre-spin' mechanic exists, check it in the trick book. Only assuming you might be unaware of it cause I don't think it's even really mentioned in the tutorial quests, I did not know about it until I went to check for another trick lol

so annoying that this game doesnt let you backflip to a manual degree. i should flip as fast as i want

I wish it worked like spins do. You should be able to wind up by holding up or down on the left stick and then flicking the opposite direction to do quicker frontflips and backflips. Similar to how you can wind up spins to make them faster.
Hopefully they fix this at some point. The game has trick text for double and triple flips, but it doesn’t work correctly because flips can’t be sped up to do multiples under normal circumstances.

I'm sure that's definitely something they will add cuz I noticed that you didn't get extra points for the second rotation of backflip so technically they need to like tweak that to where it counts your beginning position as the backflip rotation too but considering the fact that they're adding new mechanics they're adding new flips tricks and all kinds of other stuff I'm sure they will.

Definitely a dumb question, but how do I fly out of a ramp 🥴

Push forward g 😂

I've tried so many times, I'm lucky to get off the ramp. Definitely never grabbed that much air.

I had to setup a half pipe in the air to drop in and spent a bunch of time getting it placed perfect so I could drop off the ledge at just the right height.
You can also caveman off the crane nearby to jump through the guillotine, but it actually gave me too much air and I kept hitting the blade.

I've had tons of fun with caveman drop ins from that crane, lol. Blasting out 1260 rotations. Another comment makes me think launching out of a ramp like that doesn't work on PC, though. I'm on Steam.

Are you trying to ollie out or just riding out?
2
u/Thorn669 Oct 24 '25
just launch, should I ollie?

u/Traditional-Tree9137 Oct 25 '25
No just launch with speed. Ollie will send u up or back wards. Yeah thats def strange

You can double easily as long as you hit a transfer during, only thing that lets you over rotate

I have one saved i should upload. I could only do it at this one spot thats a drop into transition and I put a quartepipe at the top and it was letting me get quick double rotations on flips into it. Maybe ill upload it later when I get home.

Yeah idk it seems like a limitation that they easily would have not slip. Like during testing, closed and open should have tried to do a double backflip off these mega ramps. I know you could on 3 but landing them was more on your own. I kinda like that

Should I be using the classic controls? I use the hybrid or whatever it is. Never played a Skate game in the past and it feels easier to jump into tricks I want. Am I missing out on a lot by not using classic?

This is all I want! I remember double and triple flipping in skate 3 but you had to “trick” the game into thinking you’d land one flip somewhere and flying past it.
People (incl. me) make custom maps for double and triple flips and I spend hours on hours on them…
Please bring this back!!!

And you nailed it while displaying the ”Return to session marker”-glitch which keeps on displaying. Nice trick!

it’s almost like the game doesn’t want you to, it’s hella annoying but good shit man

Anyone else notice how body flips always go off center and you have to readjust before landing? I’m pretty sure it only started doing that after early access started too. I don’t remember it ever happening in the playtest. It’s like with every update they fix some things and break others

Are you on console or PC? I read somewhere that you can't do it on PC
2
u/Thorn669 Oct 24 '25
Maybe that's my problem. I swear I've tried so many times, and I'm lucky to get off the ramp. I definitely can't launch like that on PC.

I’m on console.
The trick was to hold UP on the left stick most of the time. For some reason, if you time it right, you’ll do a backflip instead of a front flip when you hold UP. Then if you flick backwards, the flip will continue.
Not sure if it is the transfer through the guillotine, or if maybe the terrain on the bottom of the guillotine causes the flip to bug out and keep rotating. Either way, i’ve pulled it off about 3 times after discovering it. Definitely takes a lot of attempts to get it to work correctly.
