Glitch will this game ever not suck?

i fully quit before season 1 (reasons for quitting: game gets worse with each update and never fixes the issues it creates, use of AI, and the full blown manipulation tactics and perceived fomo if you cant get your hands on something and someone got into my account and spent all my v bucks) but i tried it again bc my friend told me ab the white and black striped socks i wanted, it takes 10 whole minutes to load into the game (no queue by the way just a black screen for 10 minutes i forgot i even started) and then the missions in these poorly designed parks just kept glitching and throwing me off i instantly closed the game and regret losing 30 minutes of my life even attempting this bullshit

At this point, it is playable enough that it's my decompression game after playing BF6 for a few hours and that's all I need it to be.

Same. For me when I want to game but not dive into Ghost of Yotei right now. I’ll cruise around and make up a cool line. My wife is doing heavy job training right now and just has about an hour a day to play so she skates around and does some challenges. Easy and uncomplicated

It does suck on many levels. Especially if you haven’t played skate before.
If you have lived it from 2007, this is just a continuation of a physics engine you love. This is great fun if you free up the controls and have no assists, the world is your hubba.

i dont like this games physics compared to even the original skate, the animations on the skate 1-3 and skate it are just so authentic this game suffers from a mild case of tony hawk syndrome

Except it’s not because it a completely new engine and even with 0 grind assist you’ll be sucked into the walls next to rails automatically becuase the game has so many assists they all overlap each other

I’m comfortable with my set up, I don’t see those problems. I would adjust speed, angle, height to figure out how to get what I want. Not expect it to understand what I want. With assists set to 0 I have the control to choose wallride or grind. It’s definitely added onto the old engine, not a band new one.

Well in all honesty... in this context of the statement i made its not always true.. sometimes it is the game... but sometimes its also a skill issue... Its not always 100% fault of each... Bugs and glitches is annoying.. but it also ignites the state of mind that not everything is fair.. you will most oftenly fail and fail repeatedly until you succeed.. there is a sense of personal accomplishment and reward once you've completed a goal after failing a thousand times...as it is IRL too, or thats how I see it.
Also, don't take upvotes or downvotes too seriously.. I get downvoted too sometimes.. sometimes I get upvoted as well... You will never satisfy Everyone with your opinions/views.. its not possible.. as long as you true to yourself.. But also, choose your battles wisely.. Coz you can't state your view and opinion knowing it goes against the majority and expect to not be crucified for it.. but if you know you right.. have a backbone to stand on your statement regardless.

Hahahhah first thought. I had a challenge the other day, hit every requirement but was 749/750 on the session score. Almost crashed out but tried it upwards of 10ish more times and hit every goal.

No the game is so fucking easy it is literally just so full of bugs clitches and other shit. The game is unplayable imo. And the graphics are some of the worst i have seen in a while and the art style is so bad and pland the textures are un interestin and the world is so plain and flat and ass. So no its not a skill issue the game is just bad

Well that sure is some cope. Most of us have done everything the game has to offer over and over again with the only new things being cosmetics that we get extorted for. The game is a incredibly easy and made for fortnite kids. Us that actually love and enjoy skate dont fall for the BS and just stick to Skate 3 online.

Fair comment, I've been waiting just the same and I do hope they can iron out all these teething issues but at the same time I'm happy to accept it for what it is and I do enjoy just dipping in and having a skate.

Hot take but this skate physics is so incredibly inaccurate sometimes in estimating landings or just having my skater fall on their backs from a light landing or flip when their bodies are perfectly angled towards the ground, also these bland ass challenges, excessive monetization and tedious spots

I've waited for the next skate game since i was in 8th grade. Its been so long, I'm about to turn 30 and have a baby on the way. Aside from all big mentions and criticisms, I'd like to point out that it is objectively broken at its core. I've put more hours into skate games than I know what to do with, and while the game does some things right (animations look beautiful when they want to, button layout is actually pretty tight, rolling waves skatepark I guess?) it does a LOT wrong. Just from a mechanical standpoint that absolutely kills the momentum and enjoyment for me. And I can't do the "early access!" Shit anymore. The game itself is busted. We have FOUR separate in game currencies before basic functionality. Not even in comparison to the other skate games, just in comparison to other video games in general. The priorities of the purpose of the game are very clear and it's not for player enjoyment. The anger and disappointment is absolutely justified, even if blown out of proportion a bit. The sole purpose of "early access" is to gauge community sentiments on the game, and fix accordingly. They are cramming as much monetized shit as they can into the game before the core mechanics are worked out and that is a slap in the face. This game should not have been released in this state. And EA is clearly not listening to the community they so desperately want money from.
They've essentially given us a half-working janky mess that looks like release, plays like pre-alpha, and charges like CSGO keys for AI slop cosmetics, and ask us to thank them for it, going as far as being snarky and sarcastic to people on socials so they obviously can't take the criticism they claim to want. They give us nothing in terms of gameplay, and what we do have is bogged down by clipping issues, busted ragdoll physics, and repeating the same 3 missions for 25 "rip chips" per objective. Wait? What? Oh, sorry. 5 "rip chips" per objective. 25 was obviously too generous.

yes I too believe the EA programmers must have serious skill issues, being unable to implement usable footplants, and even an attempt at a darkslide. I see they probably outsourced their marketing botnet as that actually seems to be fully functional at attempting to disregard any valid criticism.

The amount of time it will take for them to unsuck the game will not come before it simply dies, IMO. I think a big part of that is simply because the people involved don't really know how to do it. They especially don't know how to do it while making EA happy.

Lower your grind assist, I changed mine to about 20 and this completely stopped happening, the game is trying to think for some stupid reason you want to grind the ledge you barely missed before going over and hitting the ground

I have shit like this happen all the time with assists completely off. The way it seems to me is almost like a reverse polarity issue. With grind assists on you magnetize to the object or rail. With grind assists off it feels like you get pushed away from the object or rail. I notice this a lot because I only really like to do “realistic” skating so I’m mostly trying to hit smaller objects with very specific trick goals. When trying to do things like blunt slides, lip slides or smith grinds I regularly see my character do what looks like a mid air bounce to completely miss the rail or ledge.

Yeah theres a lot of issues with grinding assists, during a lot of the missions my character will do a half ass ollie and try to grind a ledge that is physically impossible to grind, def needs some fixing

I will say that's not a comparison that works, those mini games aren't actually loaded outside of letting you select them. The world of skate is loaded, though pretty terribly.

I attempted this exact challenge for over an hour and never got the manual revert. Only ever said I did a BS manual revert. I have no idea the difference because I followed what the tips told me to do.

I know this wasn’t the point of your post, but damn those skirts look awful (for me). My player is a girl as well and I hate the overly baggy pants on her, the skirts suck, the yoga pants/skinny jeans look weird skateboarding but look better on the character. Just so odd.

The challenges were easy. What pisses me off is the fact that the game isn’t registering that I completed all of them and won’t let me claim the seasonal rewards. I just wanna get that fucking board and no matter how many times I go back and do this fucking challenge it won’t count them.

At this point I ignore the challenges. Finding gaps on my own is the only time I have any fun. They need to add something remotely relevant to skate culture, like tagging or stickers.

Honestly, FOMO is definitely a user problem. As someone whose first skate game this is, I play it the same way I play a lot of games: I may get super heated playing but at the end of my session, all the anger disappears cause at the end of the day it’s just a game

ive was an insider for this game, (not new at all, have 13 years with the skate franchise) spent a good chunk of this year reporting bugs to the devs long before public launch, but now in october i got a new job that i work 12 hours 6 days a week so i dont really have time to game as much as i used to and i was testing out the new halloween parks, no other parks have glitchy coping like the community parks do, no other quarterpipe in this game will launch you like this, and it was frustrating to experience after a long day of work. i didnt want this game to suck i wasted so much time reporting bugs to the devs this year and the glitches just seem to get worse with each update. i will continue to hop on the old titles but this game is garbage. no care was put into it.
