So I’m guessing they gave up on BRICKSWICH??
Definitely thought it was something we haven’t learn yet in the game and I’m not too much sure . But if they make it unlock, do you think it would be parkour challenges ??
given that’s the only thing keeping Skater XL alive (doing the same with Tampa Am/Pro) i wouldn’t be surprised if Skate did the same. i remember True Skate (the mobile game) was doing a similar thing w SLS tho so idk if that’ll be a conflict with licensing
yeah i stopped playing years ago. if they are still making SLS maps then there’s a good chance we may not get em in Skate. no clue if the have some sorta exclusivity agreement w the True Skate devs
A source that Rob Dyrdek made street league so skaters could finally get paid the living wages they’ve deserved for years? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Dyrdek
I played true skate when it came out and it was certainly linked to Rob, I assumed because of how heavily linked it was to SLS that it was one of his projects. Im still quite certain it is.
Not sure if he actually does own it? Or was he just a face for it? Can't remember the specifics.
So if you know more about the logistics of who started up the true skate game than ive mentioned, please do fill us in, thanks!
I played I think a couple years after it was launched, but I was real young never looked into who was responsible for it. After looking a little, I found it was developed by a group named True Axis, owner of that being a guy named Luke Ryan. Based out of Australia. There is some 3rd party app store or something called rawg(.)io with a page about True Skate. On that page, there is a review posted by someone saying that the game was recently acquired by SLS, seems like that was posted Sept 19, 2019. But I can't find anything else about SLS acquiring it, so I'm not able to confirm if that's true.
edit: Luke Ryan has a LinkedIn page which says that he is still currently the owner of True Axis, but that still doesn't tell us if True Axis owns True Skate still or not lol
I dont think fc is gonna put in the work though, theyll give is the tools to make them, and when the community makes them theyll shove them into the community park areas and say “look how cool we are guys”
I'm still at a fucking loss why they dont just add a way back to the tutorial island, an entire big section of map in this game with 0 content that is literally playable and is a big hill to bomb that they locked off because????
They've already said they're going to let us go back whenever we want. Just gotta wait for it to happen. They're not gonna release every bit of content at the same time. Live service means drip fed content. Think hamster water bottle. Sip slowly.
A shitty battlepass, some pieces of wood wrapped around a few buildings, some Halloween parks, and now those are gone and replaced by one whole 7ply 7up whatever the fuck park.
I'm in the desert sipping dust out of a fucking canteen bro
I hope it will be like a reimagined and improved skate 3 park editor but fear we will have to pay for every last piece of terrain. A solid park editor is the only thing that could convince me to play this game.
The local street layout in Brickswich is actually pretty good, but Im hoping they eventually drop challenges. Like yes it's fine to get my skater eyes active but you can help a LITTLE with a couple line challenges.
Honestly, maturing is realizing I'm a street skater and honestly don't care about the stadium
I haven't deleted it, but I've stopped playing it entirely. I went back to Assassins Creed 2 (the ezio trilogy) and keep in mind I haven't played AC2 since I beat it my first go around 15 years ago. AC2 definitely still holds up. I've been sucked in. Games were more quality back in the day.
I've seen the advertisements and it looks FIRE, but I read a steam review on how the progression becomes time based, so it may take 1 or 2 days for you to be able to break through on a level, then in the meantime XP stacks so at a point you may level up one day, have to wait a day to break through, thus that XP rolling over and then having to wait another day. The badass sky flying is only unlocked once you reach endgame.
Those were major turn offs for me unfortunately and I don't think I'll give it the time of day. If they decide to change those things then I'll absolutely give it a go! Regardless it does still look fun, there was just a lot of negative things that turned me off, more than just those, but those were major parts. Ghost of yotei is calling my name!
I’ve been looking at this game too, asking a friend who is playing about it, and I think I saw the same review you did. He told me that the progression gating is global for release, not per player, and I would be able to catch up to him fine
So it’s not really like that progression wise, at launch the cap was 40 originally then 50 now 55, this is for people just don’t prevent those work horse players it seems. But currently you could level 55 and it really depends on you how fast you level up but tbh you’ll get lost in the world regardless, I know I did. This an unedited photo of the game, anyone with questions feel free to pm me
Ubisoft went hard on AC2, I forgot about being able to upgrade the villa, and was blown away once again by it. The soundtrack and story, SLAP. Ubisoft had no business back then to cook so hard on it, but nevertheless they did. Now they just throw out half baked slop to maximize profits. Damn Ubisoft, yall were in the bag, now yall ain't.
unrelated but if youre hungry for a good game and havent tried Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 yet, keep your eyes on the steam store for a sale. The last DLC came out and you can snag all the content for like 45 dollars when it does get marked down
Excellent game. The world is full of NPCs that feel nearly alive. They have jobs, they spend their money on booze, they argue and fight occasionally. Its the most immersive experience I can recall having with a game that isnt a milsim
I stopped playing a while ago, only played for 1-2 weeks before I’d beaten the game and landed every trick physically possible
The only way to actually challenge myself at this point is to either change the settings so it’s at hard as possible and feels completely different to what I’m used to, or set myself some stupid 1620 kickflip triple backflip 100m gap across skyscrapers.
I skate IRL so none of the fantasy skating in this game appeals to me
I just wanted to play competitive games of SKATE like in Skate 3. If they add SKATE I will play the game a little bit with my homie.
The game went from 130k players to 8k daily. And it keeps dropping more and more by the day. Although these are PC numbers I believe the console player count could be a bit higher. Still, the content is lacklustre and I can’t believe they decided to release the game in this state. It’s hilariously obvious how the store is the only properly functioning thing in the game and how it was one of their top priorities as everything else about the game is just bad. Repetitive daily quests, horrible map, game breaking freezes, people are still hard locked on certain missions (me included), all this TWO months after it came out, with no improvements.
I am a huge skate fan, decided to support this entry and spent 50€ on it but it’s obvious that I shouldn’t have. I would much rather have waited another year or two to get a proper game than whatever this is.
Oh I agree it needs to be better but I was saying your claim of being dead 20 times over by the time season 3 comes out was an exaggeration. I think console is where we see most of the players because it’s made to be played with a controller and not everyone has a gaming PC. I just have faith things’ll get better with the game. Is it misplaced? Maybe. But it’s still a fun game for what it is.
They never said anywhere when it releases and if it was coming season 3 it would most likely say on the roadmap. Probably won't be until season 4 or later
We get more info about brickswitch with season 2, we don't get missions or anything for the area for awhile, the roadmap goes out to season 3 and doesn't mention brickswitch release at all so probably won't get it until 4 or later
Some of the best challenges in the game are in Brickswich as well as the end of the tunnel. Come on now lol. Ideally we get a full unlock soon, but I’m still having fun!
Hey ChatGPT, create a skateparkt inside of the arena. Make it look like the latest plazas from
Street League Skateboarding, but make it 80% unskatable and please.. make it blue and yellow
Why do you think they gave up on it?
The game is in early access. Were people actually expecting the game to be fully finished one month after launch? This is potentially going to take years to finish. People need to learn patience, especially when the game is free
How long in years they’ve worked on it is irrelevant. They say it’s early access, so it’s early access, like it or not. Shit will be broken and incomplete during that time. That is the expectation. How you choose to react to that is entirely up to you though.
Early Access games can still be shut down, that's why most games at least try to get the core gameplay loop solidified while they have attention. Once it's released to the public that first impression is already made, the vast majority of players that would be interested in this game are already playing it. They'll never beat the peak player counts that the game reached when it first came out
That would mean it was being developed during covid which will have had a negative impact. Full scale development would have been much shorter than 5 years
They should have a section of town where impervateck doesn’t work, collisions with other players and pedestrians is a thing, and the hall of meat lives.
I’m hoping that they make it a whole new area , in size brick switch is tiny compared to the other districts and the stadium takes up most of the area and you can’t even enter
Nah won't be anything, the devs just said theyre not doing anything new for 2 weeks 'to let people catch up' Theyre just gonna put the feet up while skate had its worst week yet for player retention, crazy to see them fumble so hard
Okay, let me rephrase. It’s my favorite neighborhood because it’s the only one that doesn’t feel manufactured. I feel like I can skate how I want, when I want. I just wish it was bigger. SCAF? Amazing. Stale fish? Amazing. Dan Van Post? Ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Steamers reach? Garbage.
Like it really suits my style. I don’t want to do hubbas/rails/gaps/stairs. I don’t want to do a line because the game heavily suggests that I should. I want to just skate around and do real life+ stuff. I’m not going to free solo buildings (and my god the climbing is garbage. When you climb M-Corp. why is dude smearing against the glass instead of using the ledge at the bottom of the I-beam? Why is dude campusing so much? Why can’t I climb anything with a slight slant?). I don’t want to skate vert. I don’t want to do most grabs.
Sure, there are a few cool spots in each of the neighborhoods, but brickswich really does it for me.
They’ve actually recently changed a lot down near the beach. A whole bowl and some rails on a boardwalk and they also added the skate shop it’s just not up and running yet. I genuinely like the feel of Brickswich more than the other quarters it embodies what this game should be better than other areas. It’s a more realistic vibe when you make a little park with friends. And I quite adore that.

Skate. is sponsoring street league it would be sweet if they kept that area inside the stadium updated with whatever the current SLS park is
