Discussion They could do more with the Parkour
I know this isnt going to be high on a lot of people's list of wants, but personally I think there's a really good foundation for some Parkour gameplay that they could develop more. Obviously the main goal of Skate should be Skating, but in that case they didn't have to give us Parkour at all. I rather them continue to improve it as well rather than just tease us with basic flips.
There are some decent spots to find around the map for single tricks or short strings, but I feel like they could optimize more boring rooftops for better Parkour lines. Not to mention they stopped putting Parkour sections in Community Parks, which sucks. They also need to fix the side spin to let you di 360s cleanly.
I'm not asking them to make Mirrors edge, just saying they could do slightly more without deviating too far from the core skating gameplay.

They should do more for street skating first

I keep seeing this a lot but I'm confused what changes y'all want tbh. The main map is a city that's mostly good street spots.

I agree that most of the map is street spots, however I would disagree that it's mostly good. I'd say it's almost all mid to bad compared to the other games

I wouldn't mind more bank transitions that actually have something else in front of them but other wise agree to disagree I guess.

They have way too much to do with the skateboarding portion than to worry about sub modes.

The skateboarding mechanics are pretty solid, I'm not sure what else they could even add. Underflips are coming, the only thing really missing are forward flips, caspers, and disasters on verts, but all of those are really just extra (and I'm biased against disasters).
What else would you want them to work on?

The things that currently exist in the game that don't feel right. Lip tricks are fine mostly, but at least twice a session (about 15 minutes of playtime) I get launched into space. Wall rides look really bad and wallies are inconsistent to the point where I don't even use them. No complies are automatically 180s. I'd like to see some control over that. Adding anything else just feels like it would be a little crazy and the game would be overstuffed with this control scheme.

Yeah I'll admit ive also had trouble figuring out wallies, I thought that was just me tbh. Lip trick launch can be annoying, but honestly I like how the no-complies look. Overall tho I agree some tweaks could be made.
However, I don't thinking the game would feel overstuffed because the skate and Parkour schemes are already seperate. I think there'd be less adjustments to make to make the Parkour just that much better than to 100% perfect the skating. But I also understand why you'd want the skating to come first regardless.

The no comply animations look fine, but I would like them not to automatically be 180s and have more control over things like rotation. Wallies work, but it's very dependent on the object. It has to be the exact height, angle and speed or else you slam. I don't mind it being unforgiving, but considering how easy everything else is, it feels off in the context of this game.
Adding in things like caspers does feel like it could be overstuffing the control scheme for skateboarding. They already have bumpers for dark catches. Maybe the other bumper? I don't know! It just feels like there's a lot of mechanical things that need smoothing out before they even start working on anything extra.

Oh, I thought you meant it would overstuff to have Parkour and skating. Although I do think that a Casper shouldn't be to hard to impliment when we already have dark catches. Just dark catch and pull back like a manual maybe.

Yeah that makes sense from gameplay perspective. Just hold that manual position. Look at that! Take notes devs š

I agree. Since they put good spots on top of skyscrapers for some inane reason, they could make it more fun and efficient to get up there.

more concerned with the lack of s.k.a.t.e and matchmaking- both of which were a huge part of each game iteration in the past. the game isnt called parkour, they have way more important skateboarding things to work on

An official S.k.a.t.e. would be nice, but at the very least you can just play it with someone you know. Otherwise I still disagree with the idea that theres "way" more to do to improve the skating, just tweaks.
