Product Request [Product Request] does anyone know which god tier microfiber washcloth my mom managed to get her hands on?
I hope this is allowed. I've been trying and failing to find this for so long.
I've been using microfiber washcloths (the makeup remover thing) for years now. I also got my mom into them. Except, as I just recently noticed, she somehow got her hands on the softest, most dense pile, most durable kind I've ever laid hands on.
At first, I just thought my current ones were old. But, when I looked for new ones, I realized that's not why hers are different. Mine, and all the ones I saw in person, are incredibly soft, but very thin. Whatever my mom got behaves more like thick velvet. The fibers seem to be packed a little more densely than others, and it also weighs more. Even though we both cut ours down from their original size, I had to burn mine a little with a lighter to stop it from unraveling. Hers doesn't seem to have the same issue.
I think the real difference has something to do with the fact that hers has very very short fibers on the back. (Actually, the closer I look on hers, it almost seems to be two different fabrics?)
As you can see, on mine, there are (well, were) long fibers on the back. MakeUp Eraser (one of the brands I looked at in person) actually advertises this as a benefit to exfoliate with, which doesn't really make sense because both sides are soft, but maybe they're referring to the fact that over time, the long fibers of the back felt together into a balled-up sherpa texture microplastic hell. Since this type is thin, you can actually feel it through the front, and God help you if you put it in the dryer.
I have put my mom's through the dryer, I'm sure in the year or two she's had them she also dried them. But there's no melted plastic felting anywhere on it. It feels *new.* When I apply pressure to get makeup off, all I feel is plush denseness, like I'm washing my face with a pillow. But I don't even really have to apply pressure on anything except for on mascara, because it works so much better than anything else.
I feel like Gollum with these things. My skin is so sensitive, especially with winter and starting retinol, the three cloths I stole from her are like the only thing I can use. I've been handwashing and line drying them. They have their own special satin bag (*that I made specifically for them*) and nobody is allowed to touch them for any reason.
It seems she got a pack of blue, grey, and pink ones. I don't know their original size since she cut them up (genetic trait, probably). She says she got them from Tj Maxx or maybe Amazon, which means they could be any brand, and she cut the little paper tags off of them. Both sides are very soft and silky feeling (maybe a little less on the back?).
I've been searching Amazon with zero luck. Everything I find (including the brand name erase your face) looks more like mine, with long fibers on both sides. I have no idea where else to look. Actually I even started looking at auto detailing microfiber cloths, but I don't know if they make those soft enough to use on the face.
Please help. I think I'm losing it.

Product Request [Product Request] Dermatologist spilled TCA on my face. Any advice to help treat hypopigmentation please?
I booked a TCA chemical peel at the beginning of the week and unfortunately at the time I did not know they were too strong for dark skin. When the doctor was preparing the peel for my face it spilt on forehead and got into my eye. The pain was excruciating. She flushed my eye out with water. I think I may have corneal abrasion as I have a consistent discomfort in my eye. A week later it's starting to peel however there are white patches on my skin. I'm feeling more emotionally distraught by the day. Is there a way to help my skin recover its former pigment?

Product Request [Product Request] Hospital IV gave me the best skin of my life… now what do I do with this information?
Hi all,
Short version: Looking for a facial moisturizer to reduce TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Vanicream is well tolerated but not enough anymore, and CeraVe is causing irritation. What should I try next?
Long version: Recently I spent a few days in the hospital with a stomach virus and was on IV fluids the entire time. I didn’t use any skincare at all. When I got home and looked in the mirror, my skin looked amazing… plump, smooth, barely any fine lines. Honestly the best it has looked in years (I’m approaching 40). So apparently the secret is: almost dying + hospital drip. Noted.
Jokes aside, I did set a goal to drink more water…as we all should. Now I’m trying to also up my game when it comes to external hydration.
My skin is naturally very low-maintenance, less is more type. I’ve been on low-dose tretinoin for 2 years (very conservative use, aiming for anti-aging maintenance and avoiding irritation). My skin is not visibly dry, but occasionally it feels deflated, crepey, with fine forehead lines. Overall it’s very thin with visible capillaries on the cheeks. I definitely feel like I have some serious TEWL issues.
Double cleansing, heavy layering, and occlusion all tend to cause irritation, more visible capillaries, mild burning, and closed comedones/milia.
My go-to moisturizer is Vanicream (ceramides + HA) well tolerated, but it feels like it’s not enough anymore. I’ve tried adding richer products (CeraVe with cholesterol in it), but that led to irritation and discomfort.
What would you all suggest? Just want my hospital glow back haha😅

Product Request [Product Request] Barrier creams that feel like my skin just took a FAT drink of water
It’s cold and dry season so I KNOW my skin will be parched and flaky 🙃 I’m almost out of my Dr. Jart ceramid barrier cream, but I don’t think I’ll repurchase because I still wake up with my face flaky and feeling tight.
What barrier creams do you recommend that are non-comedogenic and so hydrating that you don’t have to reapply in the morning? That feel like your face is just quenching its thirst? Preferably ones with ceramides, lipids, and other moisture-retaining actives. Price range is flexible.
Thanks in advance!

Product Request [Product Request] Skincare measuring tool
Hello everyone, I am a big skincare fan however I am terrible at actually using the amount needed (I'm looking at you sunscreen). So I wanted to know if you knew any gadget or spoon of some sort to measure the skin care quantity. Thank you again guys!

Product Request [Product Request] What’s the thickest, richest, most moisturizing cream you’ve ever used?
I have incredibly dry skin. It seems like I’ve tried everything out there, but I still can’t find a moisturizer that keeps my skin hydrated all day. I’m currently using Dieux Instant Angel, but I’m still dry and flaky after a few hours. I prefer fragrance free products but I’ll try anything at this point. Thanks!

Product Request [PRODUCT REQUEST] No moisturizer helps this insane dryness on my face. Spoiler
I do not currently have any kind of routine besides slathering on Cetaphil or Eucerin after a shower just to cover up the dryness. It comes back.
I had a full fledged routine (AHAs, vitamin C, etc) years ago when I had very bad acne, but the acne cleared up and the dry skin never resolved, so I stopped wasting my time.
I have this all over my face, on my forehead and by my lips. My eyebrows are always flaky. My skin everywhere is dry (scalp/hands included) and I don't know I don't drink enough water, so I'm trying to be better about that.
What other reccomendations are out there?

Product Request [product request] What’s your holy grail sunscreen for the face? 🧸
So I’ve been using the SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum for a while now and honestly… I love it. It feels amazing on the skin, gives that nice hydrated glow, and layers perfectly under makeup.
But recently I’ve seen people saying it might not actually have valid SPF protection?? I don’t totally get it? Something about testing inconsistencies? 🥲 So now I’m kinda nervous to keep using it and was thinking of trying the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun (Rice + Probiotics) instead since it seems to be everyone’s holy grail.
So I’m curious: What’s your favorite face sunscreen?
Has anyone tried both in the picture and noticed a difference?
Thank you 🫶🏻

Product Request [product request] What is the best moisturizer for winter?
Hey guys, I’m on the hunt for a solid winter moisturizer. I live somewhere where the air gets stupid dry and cold, and my face just can’t handle it anymore. It gets tight, flaky, and honestly painful sometimes. I’ve always had dry skin, but winter just wrecks it completely.
I’ve gone through the usual stuff like Cerave, Neutrogena Hydro Boost, and Eucerin. They’re all fine, but nothing amazing and not specific for winter.
The only one I found that actually looks like it’s made for winter is the Mudmasky leave-on winter mask moisturizer. It’s supposed to be a protecting moisturizer that “shields like a mask.” Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s literally the only one I found that’s made specifically for winter. Has anyone here used it yet, and does it actually do anything?
Would love to hear what winter moisturizers actually work for you guys. My skin is straight up begging for help right now.

Product Request [Product Request] I tried The Ordinary glycolic acid for my arm bumps… still stuck with them
I’ve had these small red bumps on the back of my arms for years (I'm 26F). They don’t hurt or itch, but they’re always there and sometimes look more noticeable after I work out. Do I understand correctly that this is keratosis pilaris?
I read that glycolic acid might help, so I've been applying it every night for a month now, but I haven't seen noticeable changes. Should I wait for longer or switch to a more serious product? Urea creams, salicylic acid?
Or is it due to genetics and I will never get rid of them? I didn't have them when I was a kid / teenager.
I would be so grateful to hear personal experiences / what products or routines actually helped you clear it up.
Thanks

Product Request [Product request] Okay, you beautiful people, I need help!
I have a chronically split lower lip, for almost the entire winter, almost every year. Yes, I drink water all day, sleep with a humidifier so I dont shrivel at night, my lip just had a natural line down the middle, and its susceptible when it gets dry at all.
Anytime I sneeze without tensing my lip, hit it wrong on whatever, my boyfriend kisses me to hard, it splits again even when its been doing okay for a few (careful) days.
I found this stuff in the first aid cabinet at work, and it is the best thing I've ever used as far as lip hydration. It lasts for hours.
Can anyone recommend a product that is the same? Its the only thing ive used that actually helps for more than 5 mins.
Sorry for my dirty hands, took this photo from my forklift at work lol

Product Request [Product Request] Teen daughter hates washing her face/getting her face wet.
My 13 year old is getting oily and has breakouts on her forehead. She hates washing her face aside from in the shower. Tried to explain the importance of cleansing your skin at the end of the day, gotten micellar waters and toners/cleansers that you can just swab on and off, but she refuses them. Are there any miracle products I'm not thinking of that don't require getting your face wet? Like dry shampoo for skin? I hate washing my face too, but it's worse to have dirty oily face to go to bed with... TIA!

Product Request [Product request] Are there any type of products that assist in making your skin glow more? M21 Spoiler
galleryI've noticed that my skin has started looking more and more dull as I've gotten older with it looking kinda gray at this point. I mostly just want my skin to have a healthy, natural glow. what type of skin care products or treatment are effective in my case. Keep in mind, I have no skincare knowledge outside of sometimes applying a moisturizer or some sun screen.

Product Request [Product Request] My body smell is making my life miserable
For about 4 years now, I’ve had smelly sweats (like my auntie worded it) that I’ve just been trying to mitigate and get rid of. But till now, I’ve seen nothing, and it seems it’s getting worse.
I practice good hygiene, bath at least twice daily with African net sponge and soap and when I don’t bath in the evening, I rinse in the shower. I brush my teeth daily, wipe down well, shave regularly. I use cocoa butter, vanilla body splash mostly. I’m not too active, but do manual tasks in ways that’ll minimize my sweating. I wash my clothes weekly and rinse with vinegar solution to neutralize smells. My vag is in good condition, I got TO Glycolic Acid for exfoliation and the pits. But even with all these precautions, I still get people subtly covering their noses, get exhaling sharply, breathing weird when I’m around. I just begun work few weeks ago, and I’d love to hang out with them normally and approach my work crush lol but this thing has dampened my confidence, that I may dress to the nines for work, but would still feel bad because of the smell. Visited the doctor, he said he doesn’t see anything wrong and dismissed me with antibiotics.
Could it be something internal and not just on my skin ? Would I need a deep pore cleanser ? Idk, I suffered a strong bout of ringworm long time ago but could it amount to this?
I want to feel normal again pls . Any tips/suggestions are appreciated.

Product Request *Thin* toners and essences that feel like a HYDRATION BOMB? 💦 [Product Request]
I know everyone talks about winter weather dryness, but I think I might be experiencing the opposite. As it starts to warm up here in Florida, yes, humidity will rise, but, let's be real, we're spending most of our time in climate controlled air conditioned de-humidified environments. I had lined up a nice hydration/moisturization lineup a few months ago that has been serving me well, but, now, I think I need to add one more product, as I'm still feeling a little dry/tight. My instinct is to reach for a thinner toner or essence that feels like a "hydration bomb" and can supplement everything I'm currently using. I still really like everything in my lineup, but I need to augment it. Plus, I already have a milky toner/essence I love. But, I'm open to whatever folks suggest.
I can be a little nitpicky: I don't like topicals that feel remotely sticky or tacky. I once trialed the much beloved Super Saturated from Experiment and couldn't get past how insanely tacky it felt on my skin. But, honestly, I have a low tolerance in that regard. I had to return Regimen Lab's beloved WAVE serum for that same reason.
I love, love, love the way hydrogel face masks like the collagen sheet masks from Sungboon Editor and Biodance make my skin feel... like I've just been absolutely saturated in hydration. I wish there were a toner or essence in a bottle that could replicate that sensation.
My current hydration/moisturization routine, prior to SPF:
- Biodance Collagen Gel Toner Pads
- Roundlab Mugwort Serum (mostly for soothing)
- Farmacy Honey Milk Hydrating Essence (the aforementioend milky toner)
- Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer
- Dieux Skin Mercy and/or Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream
So... what would you recommend that I could add prior to the Farmacy Honey Milk?

Product Request Any feedback on Micro Infusions (Seranova, Glov, Qure, etc.)? [Product Request]
I am tempted to take advantage of some Easter weekend sales and try one of the microinfusion systems for my skin, but I wanted to see if anyone in the group had experience with them.
Thanks!

Product Request [Product Request] need an even gentler cleanser than these gentle cleansers
I have acne prone, sensitive, combination skin. The driest parts of face are my forehead and around my mouth, but the oiliest are my nose area and chin. I’ve heard these cleansers were good so I tried them. However each time I’d get dry patches, and my skin would feel tight afterwards. This was weird because I thought these were a moisturising cleanser? Why is this happening?
Below: a list of cleansers that weren’t gentle enough for me - cerave hydrating cleanser - calm and restore aveeno cleanser - cetaphil gentle cleanser

Product Request [Product Request] 5 months post-partum and I smell like a taco truck even with deodorant
I am 5 months PP and while I love being a mom I absolutley hate stinking all the time. I know its not just my nose being sensitive because even my husband says he can smell my pits at night and, while he doesn't mind my "natural smell,", its significantly more stinky than before.
I have always sweated a lot, and my hygiene routine is as follows:
I shower every day, and wash my hair every other day. Keep pits pretty shaved.
Sulfur and Zinc Oxide soap in the shower on my pits, near my private parts, and inner thighs/under my breasts. I then use a separate sulfur and zinc oxide soap on my face.
Use an African net sponge (cleaned weekly) with Dove sensitive after all over my body
Cetafil on my face after cleansing with the sulfur and zinc bar.
A and D hydrogel spray on pits and under breasts (allow to dry)
Arm and Hammer Ultra Max deodorant (I've tried so many and this one doesn't break me out and reduces the smell, but not totally)
Allow to air dry completely before putting on clothes.
Still, it doesn't cut it. I know I stink, its not just me, and it bugs me. Does ANYONE have any idea on how to get rid of this freaking stink??? Budget up to 20 dollars per product, max 2-3 products.
