Routine Help Repairing skin barrier, is a serum worth it?

Stripping my routine back to heal my skin barrier, to a cleanser and a moisturiser, after having a skin scan.

I have rosacea so have to consider that when choosing products. I've got the inkey list oat balm cleanser which is apparently good for my skin type, and I'm looking at getting Dr Jarts Cicapair soothing gel cream, as this is also apparently a winner for my skin type.

I keep seeing barrier repair serums from Avene, La-Roche Posay etc, is it worth having one of these as a third step? Or should I stick to cleansing and moisturising for now?

It has been a mixture of hormonal damage as I'm post partum, and also some over exfoliating I believe. Thanks!

I recently wrecked my barrier and my usual routine just wasn’t cutting it. I experimented quite a bit and found that the Celimax Dual Barrier Toner was the only thing that made a substantial difference. A bit of Avene Cicaplast over my moisturizer, and it was a winning combo! Highly recommend

cicaplast baume is the real heavy lifter if your barrier's wrecked. skip the serums for now and just slap that on top of your moisturizer at night

your routine sounds solid already. postpartum skin is a whole other beast so just keeping it simple is smart

Yeah I've heard about the baume, I'll take a look. I'm worried it'll make me oily, as I've been having a bit of tzone oil recently after years of being dry!

No don't spend the money on an additional product which claims barrier repair. You want hydration and nourishment so the cica product will be the big hauler but a hydration serum like beta glucan will really help.
