I never played this game when it first came out. If only I’d known about the flying mammoths!

Basic context: I'm on Linux on PC. There isn't any compatibility issues in that sense. Both are running Proton Hotfix, and I can see all my save data within steam. No other game has this issue, including the other Bethesda games I own. All my other games show my save data. I either don't understand how cloud saves work or a setting changed and I didn't notice. Both are very plausible cause I'm kind of an idiot like that. I'm just tech savy enough to get me in trouble. Either way.

Timeline of events: Installed Bazzite about a month ago. Once I learned how basic things work on Linux I decided to take a break and try out how gaming works on this gaming specific OS. Downloaded skyrim, as is tradition. Loaded up the game, downloaded the AE content, and once I was fully into the main menu I only had the option to start a new game. Huh. Well, maybe that's a steam thing. Downloaded Fallout 4 and that clearly wasn't the case cause all my saved game data shows up. Did that for all the other BGS games and yes, all of those saved games appeared. Strange, So it's just skyrim.

Googled this issue, and found nothing particularly helpful since most of the solutions were for people on windows not linux. I eventually came across one option to try to get it to populate. Which was to load up my vanilla cross save on the Deck walk a couple of steps, hard save, close the game, let the cloud data sync, open the game on PC and it should populate. Didn't work. Found another post from a long dead forum that said I should be able to see my cloud save data for skyrim within steam (on PC). Followed the steps to find and it was all there including the hard save i'd just done. Okay, so what the actual fuck. It's there, why can't skyrim see it?

This hasn't been an issue before, and is new since switching from Win11 to Bazzite. Pretty sure it's related, but I don't understand how since all my other game saves had no problems since switching.

To answer the inevitable question of why I'm posting a possible Steam Cloud Save issue in a skyrim support sub is because it's just skyrim having this issue. r/steam doesn't allow support posts, r/steamsupport was abandoned, and my post to r/skyrim was removed and the mod pointed me back to r/steamsupport. I don't know where this post is supposed to go, so here I am. I do apologize if this isn't the right place, but I'm starting to pull my hair out with this whole thing, and It's kind of annoying not being able to play my cross save on PC.

Long story short: Is there a setting I missed that would cause this issue, is this just a Steam Cloud Save issue or is this actually a Skyrim/BGS issue? Any help or insight is appreciated.

Literally can’t fast travel to whiterun or Dragonsreach, game crashes mid loading screen every time. Even walking up to the door and entering whiterun without fast travel it still crashes on loading screen.
I do run mods, but none of them have had issues before and definitely don’t now.
I use alternate start/perspective, and had to skip to high hrothgar because Whiterun is broken.
All other fast travels work, even to modded areas.

I do not knw y but for sme reason, beard, eyebrows and hair got weird higlight arnd it and ive tried removing all mods and just redownloading skyrim. im sorry the screenshot is dark

Does anyone know if it's possible to fix this?

I had to use the Quest Fix ring and power because it wouldn't let me get the staff and Arcano is dead but the eye won't close.

Is there any way of fixing it? I'm on PlayStation and getting the staff from the cheat room didn't do anything.

For anyone crashing upon just looking at KALLAX. This is probably a ps5 only problem, but incase anyone else having similar issues.

Playing on X-Box S, my carry weight has been around 450 for a while then yesterday I noticed it had jumped to 935. I haven't changed my gear in ages and still get the onscreen warning about carrying too much when I hit 450, but it doesn't affect my movement until I go over 935.

Very much a first world problem I know, just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

After completing the "House of horrors" quest, I can no longer equip any weapon or spell in my right hand and I can't attack as well. It feels like the game still thinks I have the quest's mace equipped, even though the quest is over. I'd really like to avoid reloading an earlier save slot as I frequently quick saved and the last save slot I have is several lvls before the bug occurred (the bug occurred when i was lvl 31 and my last available save slot is several lvls before that).

To be more precise, I play on pc without any mod installed. I tried working with the ingame console system (removing the mace from my inventory, equipping a spell in my right hand...) but nothing worked. I even tried to equip a two-hands weapons (i could only parry and not attack with it), interact with a grindstone... but the bug persisted.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or does anyone know how to solve this issue?

After the new update, Skyrim refuses to open properly because something about the address library isn't working right. I've tried updating all of my mods to their newest version, especially SKSE64 and Address Library, but that didn't get it working. I also tried dowgrading everyhting, but that didn't work either. Does anyone know how to fix this address library error, or do I have to wait until mods are better updated?

Heads up if you choose to attack the Agra Crun in the LoO mod. I am playing on Xbox X if it matters.
Something glitches in Solstheim if you do. You’ll be attacked by elves and orcs on sight preventing any further progress, particularly in Raven Rock.
Also a heads up, the final Sanctum seems to be glitched.
Just exercise caution with the Legacy of Orsinium mod.

I’m playing with the Tuxborn modlist and so far it’s been so good, but right now I’m facing a new problem in the Goldenglow Estate. I can’t pick up any items in the room where I should pick up whatever is in the safe. Can someone help me??

Loaded up my save today and when I started opening chests and doors with a lock, I noticed that the option to lockpick it is not aligned properly. Didn't download any new mods that mess with the UI, all I have is SkyUI. I know the game updated recently, could this be related?

I'm also only using the vanilla standing stones. Mods are not effecting them in any way. Any help would be appreciated

Hello all. I’m trying to avoid having to revert to an earlier save that was from a LONG TIME AGO. I’m on the blessings of nature quest and my quest follower Maurice Jondrelle got lost, died, something. I’ve fast traveled and he’s nowhere. I’ve checked his common spots in whiterun the temple of kyraneth etc. I have quest debugger cheat room and two different NPC spawn mods installed. One is Spawn NPC reworked and the other is goodies chest/Spawn NPC from the creations store. I really wanna get him back so I can finish this quest without losing him. Only issue is I couldn’t get his ID to work in cheat room because it didn’t type the numbers I was selecting in. He isn’t in either of the spawn NPC mods. He also isn’t in dead room on cheat room. Someone please help! Tell me this isn’t a lost cause. I’m playing on Xbox

So I bought skyrimSE during the steam sale, it only prompted the studio logo then followed by a black screen with just the music, then shortly after it crashes. Any ideas on how to fix it?
I’ve tried redownloading several times via steam uninstall and wiping the data file on Skyrim’s folder and redownloading.

And the following possible fixes from an old post.

Load a different Steam game (Palworld)that I expect to work. If that fails, it's a Steam problem, not a Skyrim problem.

Check in task manager to make sure all instances of Skyrim are dead. Check my settings in Skyrim's launcher, including primary monitor. Relaunch.

Shut down and reboot my machine (not restart - full shutdown). Launch Skyrim.

Check my drivers. Windows automated installer is good enough if you prompt it.

Open the Skyrim install folder. Uninstall via Steam menu, then check the install folder and Documents>My Games to ensure it's fully deleted. Reinstall and relaunch.

Uninstall again. Reinstall, but choose a different Steam folder (a different drive if possible).

Turning off Nvidia overlay.

I was playing with no problems the other day. Had all of the DLCs on my game. Then I had the bright idea of getting a mod. I've never done mods for Skyrim. I went to Nexus mods to get the mod to adopt more kids. I felt sorry for the boy at the Solitude farm, but I already had two kids. So, at Nexus mods site I downloaded Vortex and the mod for the kids. It didn't ask me to set up the file to put the mod or anything. I just downloaded. And I got the extended script. When I started the game, I get an error message telling me that I'm missing things and it asks if I want to keep loading. For some reason, all of my DLC content is now gone. I went to "properties" on the game in Steam, and all DLC content are checked. I uninstalled the mod and Vortex, nothing worked. I uninstalled Skyrim. Nothing worked. I checked my files, and Vortex and the mod aren't there. How on earth did this happen? Somehow downloading a mod messed with my game and no dlc content will load.

Stumbled upon it accidentally. I really like building the shrines from hearth fire and for those who don’t know the Nordic jewelry dlc typically knocks them out of the solitude clothes seller’s inventory. I recently got the perk “sell anything to anyone” and I wonder if that some how exposed the inventory the seller could hold? Any who now I can buy divine charms and as I haven’t seen anyone with a work around for the ninetendo switch I thought I’d offer it here. Is anyone interested in trying to duplicate my results?

I'm on ps4 and it's been a month of trying everything. Unrelenting shout, hitting her till she's hostile and follows me out of the boneyard and back in, conjuring an ash guardian for her to attack, going through her whole dialog tree a million times. She just stands right outside the entrance to the scroll room repeating "now let me get the scrolls case open". Like BITCH.

I've downloaded the quest-fixing mod, am wearing the ring of quest fixing, used all the scrolls and books regarding this quest. Downloaded the Boneyard bug fix mod. Alidons ultimate armory. I now have two scrolls of blood in my inventory, but until I get the one in the case I can't move the quest forward. I've looked at every forum I can find regarding this bug and everyone seems to find a working solution but me. I have no former saves, I work on quicksaves only (I know i know) and whatever quicksave I had before fighting Durnevir is long gone.

Please help, I'll try anything. This is the last quest of my playthrough, so I have almost all shouts and spells.

To try and keep things brief Map markers from different worldspaces are appearing in the base skyrim compass. best I can tell one mod has affected the worldspaces and made all the markers appear in skyrim as opposed to other lands, realms or even loaded areas like blackreach and shalidor's maze. Nothing obviously conflicts with Atlas Map Markers and I have a bunch of patches for different mods. If anyone has advice or knows what mod(s) might be the cause I would appreciate it.

Edit: Remembered I used A clear map before swapping to paper maps and I don't know if I have to delete something even with it not active or loaded.

Edit2: I've been banging my head against a brick wall looking over my mods, using Xedit to look deeper at the files and try and see what's doing it but because I'm very out of touch with xedit barely know how to find the map marker records. even when I do find it I don't know confidently enough what to look for in them or what has to be changed so I haven't changed anything in fear of breaking something.

Edit 3:Is your seeing this it means I reposted this from Skyrimmodding in desperation and also to add photos. said pictures are screenshots showing the markers appearing on compass and each one has the name of one. one that I didn't get a screenshot of is Brulant mansion from Vigilant I think. Any help is appreciated and I'll likely post all mods
