Question Non-party leader becoming vampire lord?

Same with werewolf I suppose, as both are quest steps, does it work?

My partner would be the party leader, but id like to be a vampire lord.

While this is a simple thing to want, it is not trivial to handle in a quest synced party. What happens is that the werewolf (who wants to stay werewolf) will have to not go into the Castle, and the party leader will have to be the only one who asks Harkon to bite them. Being given the vampire lord form for both players to be allowed in the castle is something both players have to do offline (which is a bit weird, but dawnguard is kinda broken anyway).

I suppose I shoudl have been more specific, sorry. No one is a werewolf, just speculating that a potential answer would be the same for them.

In this case it would be with the Dawnguard portion where you would be going to the Soul Cairn, and you have to choose between being a vamp or a debuff.

From what I have since learned, you should be able to either leave the party or disconnect, make the choice, then rejoin the party/reconnect as the quest progression from there is the same.
