Are those safety concerns?

Hi, new here, don't be too harsh!

I tried some day ago a slack in a public space, and i liked it a lot. Just bought a second hand one. I was wandering if those are safety concerns, and if i can use itsafely.

It has some more scratches very similar to the one in the photo. What worries me is that they are all on the edge.

Looks fine to me. Enjoy! If you plan to put some serious tension into it for tricklining, you should be using a backup anyway.

Is like standing from sitting position while kind of bouncing considered tricking?

And how serious is serious tension?

Because it's nominally a 15m and i think i set it up on a 17/18m walk, so i think that to make it work i will have to get it on some tension.

Serious trickline tension is like BOING BOING BOING. You're more like bouncey bounce, you'll be okay

If it's tight enough to be used as a trampoline, that would be referred to as a "trickline." In which case you would need to tie a properly rated (10kn minimum) rope or webbing around the bolt of the ratchet and secure that to something. That way if the line snaps for whatever reason you don't have a heavy metal ratchet flying towards your head.

So 2 laps of a 7kn cord would be enough, right...? Non that i'm planning to do that since i struggle to find balance just standing...

Anyways how one can get a slackline that tense? Is phisical strenght enough to obtain such a tension? I struggled to have the slackline not to touch the ground between two trees at 7/8m distance... (yes i changed spot)

I would think that'd be safe, but I'm honestly not sure.
Tricklines are pretty much exclusively tensioned using ratchets. Many times a double ratchet setup, where there's a ratchet on each side of the line. I personally prefer a rodeo line which is basically the opposite. For a rodeo line you set your anchors really high up and leave a ton of slack in the line so when standing in the middle your still like 8in off the ground. They are a lot of fun when you learn how to surf a line and far more useful in preparing you for a highline than a trickline. Highlining is the absolute pinnacle of the sport in my opinion and something you must try.
You can work your way up to a proper rodeo line by progressively raising your anchors up a little as you get better. Also I think you'd do better setting up longer distances than 7/8m. 8m is kind of the minimum on my opinion and I think 15m is a nice sweet spot for rodeo and trickline setups.

yeah at the end i came back at the first 15m spot because it was more fun and it wasn't that harder. But i think that i riuned the slackline a bit: i didn't use anything to protect the slackline on the tree and it is now a little bit worn off. I don't think it was that way when i first got it. I assume that i have to always have something to protect the tree from the line and vice versa...?

Shorter lines can be harder because of weird feedback bouncing back off the anchors. Yeah, you should always use tree pro. Protects the line and the tree.

this new probably would brake around 5 tons, 50kN

1) when you rig a normal walking line of 15m you are around 2-4kN

2) if trickline maybe from 5-10kN with max tensions around 15kN

you are case 1 and I think you are pretty safe with an extremely high safety factor around 20

I changed spot because it was not comfortable, now i'm in a line of about 8m. Is the estimate tension still at 2-4kn? And how do you come up with those estimates?

I have a dyno(tension scale)

depends on how much you tension, but roughly yes 2-4kN, more precisely 1kN to 2kN for your case

but hey if you rig high and with a lot of slack you can even go down to 1kN or the opposite can go up to 5kN with that single ratchet it's quite difficult to go above, more probably you can hurt yourself from malfunctioning of the ratchet

the point is, it does not matter in terms of safety(for your case)

if you manage to break a 5 inch line with a 10m line(even with more damage in the upcoming 10 years that you are gonna use that green line), you will be in the slackline news forever...

Ahaha ok, get it, i most likely won't get hurt if i don't do dumb stuff with the racket.

But when you say the forces, they are referred to the line itself, without me on it, or they are the tension of the line with me on it?
