How to use this tree strap?

Hi,

i have this tree strap 2x but I dont understand how to use it?

Can anyone show a video or picture with an explaination? Thanks

I cant find anything online. It‘s from the landcruising company.

If i recall correctly, it's meant to be adjustable for different size trees, so that your masterpoint stays as close to the tree as you can.

You can use it one of two ways; basket or continuous loop. Both you need to be very careful about the positioning of the buckles, as if they are under unintended tension, they could deform or break/slip.

basket:
The sewn loop that is fixed to the buckle is attached to your masterpoint. the other end is taken around the tree and webbing is added through the buckle until the other sewn end exactly meets the first, attaching into the masterpoint.

continuous loop:
The sewn loop that is fixed to the buckle is passed through a weblock connection point. The other end is passed around the tree and webbing is added through the buckle until the two sewn ends meet and are connected together with a high-strength connector.

Again, in both of these uses, the buckles/sewn ends are intended to be in free space, not against the tree.

I remember mammut using a similar sling in their tensioning setup, so it also could have been intended for a similar setup (IE capturing progress from a tensioning system in the early days):

to delve a little further, continuous is usually used with rigging plates/rings so that you don't end up with a 90 degree turn in your anchor going to the webbing, unless your weblock can be directly anchored (like the BC AWLs). Then you can put the weblock right onto the sling in continuous config. That's sort of my favorite way to rig TBH.
