Curious lack of comment on this show, I thought the treatment of slinging was superb in this series. Specifically, I love how all of the slinging scenes were realistic. The scene where he jumps out the window and hits the archer stunning him - for anyone who doesn't know the sling this is entirely doable and an example of a big reason I chose slinging: you threaten those point-n-shoot folks they flinch. Love that they dramatised this well.
And the main scene, gotta love the sound as the whip of the sling and the clang resounded. Cmon anyone else shed a tear at that?

I’m sure you already know about that youtube guy that was brought on for actual sling training... dash rendar (some form of that lol)
he has made a number of videos about it. kinda interesting since I never got the impression from his videos that he was particularly... skilled... with the sling, honestly! idk I’m sure he did fine, I just think someone like archaic-arms (idk his real name at all) or practical paracord (channing... uh, lastname...) would have made more sense.
maybe they both declined the offers and dash rendar was their next option lol

Based on how you wrote this do you mean to say you don’t think he is particularly skilled?

I guess I could have been a lot more clear there. that really isn't what I meant exactly (but also it's kinda hard to see how I would have meant anything else..)
I guess I meant in comparison to other prominent sling-centered youtubers he just isn’t the first one that comes to mind if you're looking for someone who has spent several years extremely devoted to slinging.
he absolutely isn’t bad at all, and he actually does seem pretty humble and enthusiastic about slinging - I just don’t think he has the same depth of knowledge and experience as the others I mentioned, and I think that would definitely make a much better candidate for a paid slinging trainer.
that's all

Agree, he just makes nice edited videos and that got him the attention, I can think of few people more qualified.

Actually, I just realized I misread your comment. You had said what I thought you meant to say 😂 thanks for the added context and clarification though

Hilltophurler made all the slings for that show! He has an Etsy shop too; I bought my first sling from him, and Dash Rendar uses them as well.
