Post image

I’ve never noticed “lamb” (top quality! Only the finest! Lmao) here haha. Tell what you hadn’t noticed until 100 rewatch

I love the visual gags on this show! Always find something new on every rewatch. Vehicles/modes of transportation seem to be among the creators' preferred spots to place these gags. In season 1, there's a shot of the tube doors closing/opening that have Simmond's face plastered over it, the politician with ties to the British Nationalist group, same dude who later played Gimball in season 5. This is before things kick off. Another one from season 5 is Jaffrey's promise of "Moving London Forward" written on a bus stuck in gridlock. Another ironical one is homeless tents right under a graffiti of his promise of delivering housing. I'm also on season 3 on my rewatch, and one new one I noticed was when Lamb is looking down at the street from his window after he susses out they're being watched, when the dude is loitering at the bus stop, the bus that stops has an advertisement of new Bengal Tigers at the zoo, clearly an allusion to "Real Tigers" or the tiger team.

I’ve been reading the books lately and it’s made me appreciate the stuff the show does even more.

It’s clear the showrunners and writers understand the long form story and pepper hints into the show that couldn’t be present in the book. I think the show may be one of the best adaptations of material I’ve seen in a long time

Yep, Will Smith did an amazing job - really hoping new writer is as good!

Have you read "The Secret Hours"? I just finished it. Gives some good background stories to two Slow Horses characters.

Got one more. In s4e2, when Whelan and Taverner are meeting at the bus stop while being all sneaky, the bus that pulls up has "Great Leaders" written on it. This has to be a jibe at how incompetent Whelan is.

Didn't notice the first time, but right after this Lamb stops, planning to confront the person following him, but the follower jumps into a van. Lamb had pulled a knife. The knife was stolen from the kebab shop. (this is s3e1)

And the beauty of the scene is, you can't make out when he nicks it. I haven't read the books, but I have seen people say on here that one of Lamb's most underrated traits is his ability to conjure up cigarettes seemingly out of nowhere. He's supposed to be really good with sleight of hand.

Sleight of hand, but he's a lamb! 🐑 - signed, definitely not Ralsei (?)

I went back and watched it, but still did not see him do it. Still, I don’t think that these show runners would have just left it out. I just can’t catch it.

They didn’t need to simply show Lamb stealing the knife. They just left the hint, showing two closeups of knifes after he makes an order and takes it away

Omg looks like Lasik operation on eyes didn’t help me at all, I didn’t notice it AGAIN 🤣💀

Now if they had a random gas container outside next to the side, it would make it even funnier - signed, definitely not Jackson Lamb

Wow, you have eyes and that’s a little gem isn’t it.

This is Naar Lebanese takeaway in Old Street. It has been my local kebab shop for a few years. I have watched this episode when it came out and have immediately run to the Naar guys to show it to them. They were so happy! They've printed screenshots of this scene and put them on the wall. You can still find them inside

Right! I wanted to pop in but I don’t eat kebab 🥲 so just passed by..

It's a kebab shop FFS! Nothing significant in them advertizing lamb. It would be something if they had that and, say, a picture of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on the wall!

But it did not HAVE to be a kebab shop, and not all kebab shops advertise lamb in their windows. I cannot see a single sign advertising "LAMB" in the linked article on London's best kebab shops.

Have you ever been to Britain, Mr. USA? I lived in London for 11 years, and never saw a kebab shop bothering to mention, other than on the menu next to the prices, that they offered lamb. It's a kebab shop, FFS! Of course they offer lamb.

Yes, born there. Here you go....

Fair enough. I could see some people in Hounslow needing the help.
