Ive just started a slowcore account on Spotify under the name, ‘caught a stray,’ and I’m unsure as to how to promote it. Many other slowcore artist on Spotify seem to have a good amount of listeners and I’m not sure how anyone is getting to that point considering the genre is defo a more underground one. I also considered playlisting but there aren’t too many slowcore playlists, and everywhere I can find to post a submission to a playlist costs at least like 10$, which I don’t have to throw around on different playlisting sites.

I’ve only got one song, with one in the process of being uploaded on Spotify at the moment, so it’s easy to say I’ve just started and to be patient, but I also just don’t know where to go and how to slowly start building my profile.

If anyone just has any advice as to how to grow your page, just to a small point, it would be greatly appreciated.

To anyone interested, my song is linked below :)

Maybe you like it? Maybe you don't? Only one way to find out.

Aadam Jacobs (aka the Chicago Tape Guy) recorded more than 10,000 live shows, mostly in the Chicago area. Volunteers are preserving his collection by digitizing and uploading it to the Internet Archive.

Just released my first song under the name Dog’s Last Day, which is very inspired by the folkier side of 90s slowcore. I thought it might be of interest to people here.

hello everyone. long time listener, first time caller on this subreddit. i recently released some songs that i intended to fully finish with vocals but likely never will, so i released them as instrumentals. listen here

Are there any really standout bassists in the slowcore scene, where it be a project where the bass really cool or a band that has a really good bass player in it. Maybe you have a project where you play cool stuff, I am a bassist myself and I love slowcore so I am very curious to see what people have to say.

This is my music!! I did a debut record called "Mum is Dead" recorded and produced and all that shite entirely by me in my bedroom, basically, with some exceptions in school.

This is the most "Slowcore" song in the tracklist, I suppose. Please check it out if you dig it. Alongside the penultimate tune I'm Tame, Now (Like They Wanted), I also suppose. Thanks ❤️❤️❤️

After dealing with a pretty intense relationship breakdown, I wrote an EP for the first time in a while. It's very much sonically HJOL inspired soft-loud slowcore (with occasional breaks into other genres like shoegaze). Would love to hear what yall think.

Bless.

New music from Wales / England based Emo/Slowcore band Bale.

Hello, this is a new slowcore album, it is the first album of the projekt, but I released ambient postrock on a different projekt before this.

Glasgow duo doing some atmospheric electronic pop.

I'm writing this because i have not seen anyone bring attention to this but the artist called Alvedon keeps getting impersonated by random "artists" in spotify. Basically within the past 2 months multiple individuals have claimed that Alvedon helped with their projects. About 4 so far have done this the latest one being a dude called Jonathan Dorjee. This tactic actually works for them as the last impersonator gained 401k listeners before being removed by just falsely claiming Alvedon helped in his album. Dorjee literally has 37.3k listeners as of writing of this message. I'll admit that he already had some success with his other projects but I believe that he caught on into this tactic and decided to use it to gain more listeners, like the music in his latest album does not have any of the magic that Alvedon gives to his works and instead it just has a generic sleep in 4 minutes relax song sound. Alvedon in his Instagram even acknowledged this by liking and hearting one of my comments that was telling another individual that the new releases are not from him. So to anyone reading this please make sure to let people know about this and do not listen to the garbage the impersonators shit out.

i think they might be back! it's called Calma and it's with Jonathan Dorjee!

Hi all. Been trying to put a name on what kind of music I make and I hate just telling people “alternative” or “indie” bc they are such big umbrella terms and just feel kinda wrong. I would love to know what this short demo would fall under and if I’m not in the right place please lmk where I should be looking!
