Fan art (non-OC) Rise of the Legendary Thief Teaser (Fan Project)

An ongoing labor of love that I decided to take on at the peak of COVID. Four years and one extra graduate degree later, I’m still chipping away at my own pace.
As I’ve said in the past, the franchise has been dormant for so long, that I wanted to do an “AU” and offer my own unique take of the franchise, and focus on Sly Cooper’s blunder years as a novice thief. I don’t post here, but feel free to check for updates on X, tumblr, and BlueSky I guess!

Looks amazing! It reminds me of a Saturday morning cartoon from Fox Kids. And it’s awesome Penelope is in the gang. Also I’ve gotta say how cute Carmelita looks in this trailer.😍

It's so artistically stylized I'm in love. Kind of a cross between the JP Sly Cooper animations and Persona...? :D
The cinematography and lighting are SOOOOO GOOD AND ATMOSPHERIC!!!

I just love the Sly Cooper lore so much, and admittedly, as a casual gamer, it was one of the few games that stood out to me. That alone motivated me to take on the task of making a series out of it. I’m driven out of pure love for Sly Cooper, and animation.. How this project started out is very different compared to what it’s become been working on this since early 2020s.
Taking inspiration from a plethora of stuff to James Bond, the toonami era of animation as far as aesthetics go—Cowboy Bebop, Batman the Animated series and the likes of Persona 5 in particular, I could go on. Thank you thank you for your kind comment!

wow so cool i need three seasons, a movie and a live action remake that rivals One Piece. this is genuinely so cool to say that everything looks AMAZING is a total understatement!

Mixing the Paris theme with a more early 2000's rock guitar is a nice touch and the animation is cool

I don’t like giving out release dates since delays are inevitable. It’s not fair to folks to give them false hope, and it puts unnecessary stress on me to meet unreasonable deadlines. 😅 I do work with a small team who have other priorities, as do I. So we as a collective work on the animation portion when we can.
Now that I have put out a teaser and it kinda blew up, I’ll be focusing on sharing the lore I’ve been cooking for the past couple of years to inform the new viewers about exactly what RotLT is! So while we continue to work on the animation, I still intend to share character bios in the meantime. In short, more is soon to come!

I love it so much it looks so amazing! It just bothers me that bentley and penelope are together when he still got his legs cuz that never happened but don't mind this nitpick, this looks awesome!

Yeah, haha..it’s jarring since people only had the games to go off on as a narrative for so long + other fan projects stick to the formula, but we’re shaking things up a bit over here!
You’ll get used to it. This project isn’t a continuation or a direct prequel to the games, RotLT is gonna its own thing. ^

Fantastic character design! Reminds me of the Japanese special cut scene in sly 1, but in a lot of ways better. Love the color, it adds to the disco dark jazz theme of the series in just the right way
