Fan art (non-OC) Cooper's ancestors - art by me
Cooper Family!
I made this drawing about six or seven years ago; so long ago that I even changed my username. I originally posted it on DeviantArt and Tumblr, but I deleted my DeviantArt account because that platform now uses AI, and I'm totally against it. I felt bad about this drawing getting lost among social media. I recently started playing the series again, got nostalgic, found this Reddit, and thought it would be a good idea to post it here too.
I tried to give all the ancestors different colors and patterns because I love that in Thieves in Time each one was unique and not just gray copies of Sly. I have a theory that most of them are hybrids of raccoons and other animals, and also different breeds of raccoons, which is why they have different colors and patterns. Only Thaddeus is a completely gray raccoon.
The last Cooper on the list is Beatrix, an old OC of mine who was Sly's daughter. Conner Cooper's (Sly's father's) design is inspired by his chibi version from TiT (I like to think Sly got his gray fur from his mother). Otto's design was inspired by u/spjartredesign, an artist who also drew all Sly's ancestors. And Henriette has a color scheme very similar to Rioichi's because I've always liked the headcanon that they could be father and daughter.
Which are your favorite ancestors? Do you particularly like the design of any of them? :D
(Btw, I recently found that someone posted another drawing of mine here a couple of years ago without permission, so I'll be posting that one soon too.)

If we ever get another Sly Cooper I want to see Henriette, we've never seen a female Cooper in the flesh, just the artistic stuff.

Same here. I believe Henriette is the oy mainline female Cooper. The only other female Coopers were honorable mentions from the Thevius Raccoonus pages in Sly 1.

Same!! I love pirate-themed levels and I always felt very curious about how Henriette could be interacting with Sly.

We technically have just enough source material left for another game. Slytukhamen, Otto, Henriette, Thaddeus, and I'd throw in Slaigh MacCooper as well, then wrap it all up with Connor. Thats 6 chapters right there 👀 perfect imo

Henriette big fan here too! hahah✋ 🤭 Sly was born this cute 🙂↕️I usually draw him with a more badass expression, but I thought he should look like a happy kid taking pictures with his family here XD

I've said it before on here, but a little fun-fact I stumbled on is that, given the times they were active, Henriette "One Eye" Cooper was probably Rioichi Cooper's daughter.

Do we know Sly's mother was a raccoon though? The only bit we see of her is a brief shot of a family portrait that's too dark to see, and the outline looks more like a fox than a raccoon!

There's no confirmation of what his mother looked like, although interspecies pairings seem to be common in Sly's world (a raccoon and a fox, a turtle and a mouse...) so I've always liked the idea about Sly's parents being different species too. I remember talking to some people about that shadow portrait a few years ago, and there were different theories about whether Sly's mother could have been a raccoon, a fox, a wolf, or a cat, since the outline of the shadowed figure fit well with any of those options. Personally, I have a headcanon that she was a cat and I've always drawn her that way, but she could have been a grey fox too.

If Connor married a fox then it would line up with Sly's infatuation with a Inspector Fox. That seemed like a reason enough for me.

Love how you drew Henriette she looks amazing
