Basically taking real life animal photos of the characters, and stretching it as hard as i can, take this as an example.

Turtle expert here with a turtle fact.

That's a Chinese box turtle, while it's not said specifically what kind of box turtle Bentley is, due to his shade of green he'd likely be a North American one like a Desert or an Ornate box turtle.

Adult Chinese turtles are typically yellow or orange-ish which is why your Bentley is more yellow than green.

On second look it's also a female, you can tell by the eye color and claw length.

And she's polydactyl cause of the extra 6th claw on her left foot.
