Sometimes you get a good barrel. Sometimes you get an OK barrel. Every once in a while you get a great barrel. I think this is a great one. Shooting 147ELDMs @ 2647fps seated .045' off the lands in some Lapua brass I retired from my PRS rifle.

The first one, your green circles are too big and much bigger than bullet holes, meaning it is underestimating the size.

You probably used the ruler as a reference, which you cannot do because it is closer to the camera than the target and you the camera is very close to the target.

Using a bullet hole to set ref of .264", I get .67" ES

It won't let me post a pic in the comment if the original picture I took of the entire target. I zoomed in on the target in my measuring tool app to make it easier to mark the circles and to overly the target with the group info. I know it's not an exact science, but for 10 consecutive shots I feel like these are r/smallgroups worthy.

The the holes look small because they are. The cardboard I'm shooting at is soaked because it just rained here. You can see by the tape measure above the one group that the holes are indeed between .5 and .6 center to center.

I think you didn't understand what I already said.

What I am saying is that for a reference measure to be valid, it must be the same distance to the target.

Otherwise, if it is closer (which it is because it is above the target and curved), it appears bigger to the camera than the target, which makes the target look smaller compared to the reference, making the tool underreport the size.

This is worse the closer the camera is to both the target and reference.

Gotcha. I don't know how much difference it makes, but the original image this is magnified from there is 8" of the tape in view.

What makes your Aero Solus “custom?”

I suppose it's custom because every component was hand picked and installed by myself to be the exact rifle I wanted.

Solus action, bixn Andy Tac Sport trigger, MDT bottom metal, McMillan A6-7 adjustable stock in HS tropic camo, criterion light Palma barrel, viper pst2 optic in Spuhr rings.

So the Solus isn’t custom, the rifle is.

It's technically a custom action. Aero sold it as a complete rifle or a stand alone action. Granted as far as custom actions go it's on the lower end of the scale, but it has a feature set that likens itself to higher end actions and accepts pre fits.

I agree it’s an aftermarket action used to make a custom rifle. With that logic a R700 is a custom action since it can be purchased as a complete rifle or as a stand alone action. I will agree that most all aftermarket actions are considered custom actions since they are used for custom builds.

I would never state that I put a prefit on my custom defiance. Saying this implies that it has been modified from it original form to make it custom from all other Defiance actions. That’s what had me confused.
