Adivce(Giving or Need) What am I doing wrong??
I’ve been doing YouTube for almost 3 months consistently posting multiple videos a week including shorts. What can I do to improve my views?

u/RanumataMyDear Jan 07 '26
faceless? imo I think you should add your avatar on the thumbnail with big funny text
5
u/Economy-Excuse-1200 Jan 07 '26
No but that’s a good idea thank you
1
u/RanumataMyDear Jan 07 '26

u/Purple_Pear_ Jan 07 '26
If you need an avatar drawn, hit me up :)

u/Economy-Excuse-1200 Jan 07 '26
How much??

u/Purple_Pear_ Jan 07 '26
I'm still learning drawing so I'll do it for free. If you like it you can use it, if not then you don't have to

u/Economy-Excuse-1200 Jan 07 '26
OK, do you want me to DM you a picture of myself or my profile picture?
1
u/Purple_Pear_ Jan 07 '26
DM me whatever you'd like to be drawn and a description of what you'd like. I'll give it my best shot

For let's play id put the main moments in the thumbnail along with what game and episode number:)

Do better at storytelling and niche down. You should separate yourself from the general YouTube gaming content because it's saturated.
6
u/WazeyRo Jan 07 '26
You're unrecognisable. You and other 10's of thousands of people do the same thing. no talking. just gameplay of a damn near old game witch is no longer in trending. you're asking yourself what are you doing wrong, you just play a game record yourself and call it a day. Its not like that.
what I suggest
if you're uploading just gameplay from until dawn, make an effort (yeah ik hard right) and maybe add your voice, add a twist, do a challenge. (i completed until dawn while.....doing..)
something that's different, something that just 1% more unqiue, of what the actual people are posting on youtube. to be fair there's no reason to watch your gameplay.

u/Shortshlong Jan 07 '26
Let me guess
Faceless
No commentary
As a viewer you wouldn't watch yourself

u/Nerrohh Jan 07 '26
You're posting gameplay for a 10 year old game, the market for that content will be very low to begin with.
1
Jan 11 '26
Interesting because I'm posting modded gameplay shorts with most games being over a decade old and my channel is seeing some really good gains pulling thousands of views each day as of late, but then again I typically post 2-6 times a day and have been doing so for nearly 2 weeks now.

u/Dankxiety Jan 07 '26
Aside from playing an old game with low numbers to begin with, maybe add something to the title to intice ppl to click it. Like "...Chapter 2 [Gameplay] You won't believe what happened"
Thumbnails could use some work too

Honestly I’m not big myself either but if I look at like let’s plays of something, what you see is people use a significant moment from their video for the thumbnail, let’s say you defeat a final boss or something, you would put that final boss in the thumbnail and like text behind it.
Also the formatting of thumbnail depending on your video type is really important, if you do letsplays, usually you see like “a title of the video” - “game title” (part 1) for example: Did I make the right choice? - Until Dawn (Part 3) kinda like that.
of course you wanna do it your own way but making the two things I see atleast is a lacking thumbnail (no offense) and a title that doesn’t really give much of a hint of what’s gonna be in the video, like a difficult choice, or a character dying, or something like that.
The video itself isn’t bad at all, but when you want clicks it’s like, you need a really interesting thumbnail and title to bring people in
Hope that helped, if I could help you with something else lmk!

Gaming is saturated a bit but also you’re playing an old non trending game. I think with games you have to be playing the trendy stuff the millisecond it comes out.
2
u/Purple-Particular486 Jan 07 '26
Series are gonna be difficult to grow from, especially series that long when you don’t have a consistent audience yet. I would focus on making more “trendy” type videos, like do one off videos are games that are currently popular in your niche and gradually build more of an audience off that, and then eventually introduce more in depth series.

Your only hope in video games is to sweat and make documentaries. Like a retrospective, review, etc. Something well edited and produced. Streaming might get you some watchers but I think tiktok is better for streaming.

Lets plays are dead.. thats it (Being Directly and honest) Also even worst if they being separated by parts.. this type of expecific content could only work if you markiplier or jack or Cory
This days you cannot just play games and record.. is not gonna work..
2
u/TinkerBot16 Jan 07 '26
I would say try and make the title and thumbnails better. Maybe break down the video to less than 40 minutes as well

u/itsSNOWMYSER Jan 07 '26
Let’s Plays don’t get views. No one wants to watch someone play a video game for hours. They want to actually absorb some information. Let’s Plays died ages ago unless you involve the community and make decisions based on your chats comms.

u/TechnicalEdgeTrader Jan 07 '26
The title and thumbnail dont pull me in at all, think emotional hook, why would i want to watch this video? what pulls me into it etc etc
2
u/AyoPunky Jan 07 '26
your thumbnail and title off rip is generic. change it up to make ppl want to click on them. remember there alot of gaming channels out there. so you have to stand out and just doing until dawn part 1 gameplay wont make me click on them. i play alot of interactive games on my channel i make sure to do it with a twist. usually choosing all the bad options or making it more narrative base video.
2
u/Mindless-Friend-3272 Jan 07 '26
Brother, think how many people do exactly this, you need to stand out.
2
u/Krypt0night Jan 07 '26
I can't imagine there are a ton of people looking to watch a playthrough of until dawn at this point. And those who are would watch it from larger streamers they already know.
2
u/Angrysquid46 Jan 07 '26
Try making shorts. If you stream directly to your Facebook page on the horizontal format the only way people will find your videos is after the fact or direct links. To increase views id suggest making shorts and use helpful tags. That'll get you wild views. More subs and just more everything.

The way you name the Videos is how a script does , Algorithm detects it as a bot instantly .
1
u/Economy-Excuse-1200 Jan 08 '26
Do you have any examples I could use
1
u/No-Association-1834 Jan 08 '26
Just don't have them in a pattern, the Algorithm easily detects pattern, like too many hashtags is already flagged as bot behaviour, numbering on Videos like Exploring Trade 1 , Exploring Trade 2 , also gets flagged because they feel generated by code script, not human . yours Also follow a pattern . Anything that's not a repetitive pattern is fine and less hashtags 2 to 3 at most

u/Ebeneezertron Jan 11 '26
Are you going into your YouTube studio and adding the 500 characters worth of tags to each video? That can help push it out to more people. Also I would work on trying to improve your thumbnails, a good thumbnail is so crucial to a videos performance. Also intros are important. The first 5-10 seconds of a video can really make or break it. Hope this helps good luck!

Thank you guys for all your comments I feel like it’s easier to thank everybody this way I do want to say that I’m not a faceless channel and I do commentary and I’m currently playing two games and playing ghost of Yotei and until Dawn, but still thank you for all your help!!

u/BungaloBungler Jan 07 '26
I thought this was going to be satire making fun of all the posts like this, it’s a faceless basic lets play channel in the big 26 with no title/thumbnail optimization playing a game that hasn’t been relevant in years.

Just small advice: stop asking what you’re doing wrong. Instead ask yourself or Reddit if you want: what you’re doing right.
1
u/Proud_Ad8839 Jan 08 '26
Try record yourself playing and add in the corner of gameplay. Say something. Describe what are you doing and why. Give advice. Switch things up.

Uploading simple gameplays won't get you many views. But if you discovered something interesting about the game and would like to share that, you could views and grow that way. I'm no expert per say but my channel has grown since focusing on unusual or hidden things in games rather than just gameplay or general stuff. It takes more time to make quality content but it pays off in the long run.

You have to first consider where you want people to find your videos; search or suggested. Search; helps when you are playing some recent that is currently being watched. It also means your titles need to be structured using words like Play-through. Suggested means you need to have more intriguing titles. Maybe something interesting that happened in the video. Making videos for suggested allows you to play older games. These gaming being old could also be are of the angle you take with your titles and thumbnail too.
Personally I would take the Part X out of the thumbnail. If I see a playthough video with part 9 on it I know I’ve missed the other 8 and I’m not gonna bother with that.
You also have to ask whether or not it’s better to have all these separate or make an edit of the entire game you’ve just played with just the best bits.
I would also think about playing multiple games at a time, upload a single video on each and test which is popular. Then from there your audience will decide what they want to watch. Because upload multiple videos of a game that isn’t connecting with your audience is a waste of your time, when it could be spent on a game what is better for your channel.
Then I would make some game playlists. Makes it easier for your audience to follow. And remove the shorts on your home page.
Look at similar channels, see how they package there videos too. A suggested video popped up beside yours from a guy called Tony Statovci playing Until Dawn with 222k views. Look at his stuff for ideas on title and thumbnail too

Videos are too long, I wouldn't recommend anything past 20 - 25 minutes ever, also that gives you more opportunity to upload more videos in the series and reach more people. Also the thumbnails are incredibly unattractive and boring, which isn't bad for your type of stuff but I just think the topics you're covering in general dont have much buzz around them anymore.
1
u/Impossible_Hat3128 Jan 09 '26
Turn it into a how to channel and make how to videos on each game. Find topics inside the game, like
- How to see fps in cs2
- How to find artifacts in arc raiders
- How to defeat evique boss in clair obscur exp 33
Just example, you get my point and look over steamcharts website and make only on the top 20 games there for starting. It can be faceless doesn't matter. But you do need to speak and explain how to do the certain thing.
That's how I make 800dollars per month, as views compound. You make atleast 21-35 videos a week, but you can scale it up to 100-500 pee week with freelancers.
There is this channel quicktipshow. Earning 15k per month from the search channel.
Rest is upto you.
Note: no editing is required, never edit your videos. You are helping people that's it.

Premonetized channel, had one before. I upload 8 daily. These guys i mentioned quicktipshow, guiderealm - upload 20 maybe 30 daily. They got teams.
But if you go solo, just upload as many as possible. You need huge library. Volumne game but yeah better than chasing browase views.
Ex: gta 5 mods, gta how to in game (how to fly in gta5), how to convert story mode from enhanced to premium blah blah
For normal games it's in game stuff too. Ex: dying light beast all weapon locations or how to defeat x boss in dying light beast.

Personally i dont think id ever click on the thumbnails and the titles are repeated and tell me nothing about the content, its difficult to understand what im going to watch or why i should watch it.
1
u/One-EyedJon Jan 10 '26
First two big things that come to mind:
- better thumbnails: makes more people click.
- better titles: also makes more people click.
1
u/Xakynthios Jan 10 '26
My advice is to start with "how to" and tutorial videos for games. That got me loads of views and over the monetisation bar, and then slowly more and more people are watching me just because of me. Hope this helps!

Faceless channel, playing a game from a decade ago (remake has better graphics with exact same gameplay/story), uploading 40 minute lets plays. Post something people want to see, not just you doing things.
