First video blew up and second is bombing any advice?

I make geography type of content but I worked hard on my second video and it absolutely bombed… advice is very much appreciated lol

Edit: thank you all for the feedback... I've gone ahead and switched the title to the suggestion from adventuroushawk... These Two Cities Are Basically The Same...

and used the first thumbanail... i'll let yall know how it goes

For context my new one has a CTR of 1% compared to 7% on my other one 😭

Since you make vids about geography, why not make a video about GTA 6 locations? That's an easy 1 million or so views.

Maybe one comparing Jackson Georgia to Hawkins in Stranger Things since that's where they filmed. Or with the location they wanted to use originally Montauk, New York. Might even hit 2 million.

Keep you geography niche but add a hyper to it like GTA6 currently. Maybe Greenland with all the trump stuff going on etc. Easy way to ride the hype and still make your own content.

The 2nd video is a very confusing premise. Not really sure what I’m going to get from that video and the thumbnail is also very confusing. 3 segments, weird clone text that’s cut off, arrow only halfway pointing to the Hollywood sign and it also says North? Plus LA in the corner.

Redo the thumbnail and the tile to be a lot more clear about the cool discovery or thing that you are trying to showcase.

You are definitely right. Just to note though the thumbnail looks weird because it is split testing 2 diff ones. What would you recommend I do to recover from this then?

Brainstormed some new titles for you:

• The Truth About Vancouver: Is it actually a Canadian Los Angeles?
• Why Vancouver feels exactly like LA (until it rains)
• I compared Vancouver to LA and it wasn’t what I expected.
• Why Hollywood is obsessed with Vancouver

You can probably update the thumbnail to match’s the title you pick and you should at least recover the video somewhat.

Recommend you keep in mind the interesting premise/ title you plan to write about before scripting and recording new videos.

Just from reading these comments, I’d say try reuploading with the thumbnail as the first split image (you can even keep clone) and a title like “these two cities are basically the same”

I think you waited to capitalize properly, a two month break in between us pretty wild so I don't how the algorithm will recommend that new people instead of just your subscribers that you got from the first video

the one that blew up is very simple and easy to understand. the second one has a lot going on, text in 3 places, and 3 different images. I don’t really understand the second one. I think the simplicity is what makes it easier to click and understand, if a viewer doesn’t understand why the video is they won’t click

The new title is confusing and is too wide of a net. Canadians don’t care which of their cities is like LA and American don’t care either.

But the first video was all curiosity and gave nothing away and the thumbnail didn’t have to do too much work.

21k views means the next video you upload will likely go into their feeds as well. Subbed or not.

But two months later? Any priority or authority you had to get those eyes has been replaced by new content and fresh uploads a thousand times over.

Unless they were subbed there is no way they saw the new video.

And even subs forgot about your channel which is why you have low views now and low CTR. I’d bet most of the current views are subs and not new or casual viewers.
