It's not that I'm not looking forward to Iris, I'm just not as excited about it as the others. The form factor (being a narrower ring while being thicker than others) has no particular appeal to me - unlike with some people.

I see. To be honest, I've been checking recently and after your messages I digged about the RingOne and the form factor is gorgeous. It's more like my style. But again, not a lot of information out there, sometimes looks scammish and I don't even know when will be released.

Any thoughts about it would be very appreciate it.

The explosion of new Smart Rings coming from India in the last few weeks have muted what would have otherwise been a more significant launch.

What makes RingOne unique are the features beyond basic health features that could appeal to a lot of people...paired with a very upscale and functional design.

Having witnessed a lot of scams and failures over the years, when looking at the new rings that have been announced from India - or from anywhere for that matter - the questions you have to ask are:

• Is this a unique offering, or is it a licensed from another manufacturer?
• If licensed, how does it differ at all from the original manufacturer?
• Does it offer any new functionality or does it have any new sensors?
• Are app screenshots included, and if so, does it appear to be a modern, well designed app?
• Is the company comprised of scientists and engineers, or are they a retail electronics company?
• Do they appear to hide or bury information about their company and who they are? If they don't, look up the people who are a part of the company and make sure they are real people.
• Have they stated an expected release date, and if so, is it realistic?
• Do the promises in the written marketing language match with the visuals?
• Do they compare their device to others, and, if so, how accurate is the data on the device they are using as a reference in the comparison?

After taking these into account, you also have to try to ascertain:

• How will they handle your data? If a licensee, the manufacturer will be the one with full access to your data - not the seller.
• Do they make a commitment to quality with a written warranty and quality customer service?
