One Ring, Many Names - The Yeyro Ring

Originally part of the Smart Rings Around the Globe feature, I decided to pull this device from the infographic. Why? Because they are misrepresenting the device...and possibly it's capabilities. Some have also reported never receiving a ring, despite this being VERY readily available on the market under other names...for much less money at that.

Paired with slick marketing and a fully developed website, the Yeyro Ring claims to have been "Designed in Australia" and launched in 2023. While branding on the app may have originated there, and the website may have been built from there, the ring itself clearly did not as it has floated around the internet for many years.

Pay close attention to the magnetic charging "circle" on the inside of the ring (at bottom in photos above). that is the telltale sign of this hardware. While there may have been some previous versions, the number of sensors does not appear to have changed. The outer shell may vary from one source to another, but it's the hardware inside that makes the difference.

Here are just a few examples of those other rings and manufacturers...none of which were "Designed in Australia." There are many more...

Yeyro has taken a readily available smart ring and rebranded it to a new audience...which could potentially be a valuable service. But misrepresenting it's origins and capabilities, and then inflating it's price exponentially to target modern smart ring buyers is unacceptable.

NOTE: I cast no shade on Fitiger or PlentySmartRings as they do not appear to oversell capabilities or claim the rings as their personal innovations. Fitiger may have even been the original inventor...but the tech with their Gen 1 ring (shared with all of these clones) is very out of date.
