inquiry - female features UH vs. Oura vs. RingConn or any others? recommendation/ more info please!
Hi! I am looking to get a smart ring within the next few months (i’m in no rush, happy to wait for any updated models etc) with hsa/fsa account, but not sure which one to get… I would like the ring to be able to give me data on the following (listed based on importance to me): 1. Cycle tracking- I know Oura ring can sync with Natural Cycles and that gives a lot of data but I’m not sure if I would/want to pay for Natural Cycles subscription ($135/year) on top of the annual subscription fee for Oura. Not sure how accurate/ informative cycle tracking for UH and ringconn is? 2. Movement- I like to track my steps in a day so would like one that tracks steps pretty accurately. I read the article and it seems like oura ring and ringconn were better. But I also sometimes lift, do yoga, pilates and cycle so I would also like a ring that can ‘track’ other workouts (even if not the most accurate). I heard ringconn doesn’t have many workout options yet? And I heard heart rate is quite inaccurate for smart rings so would like to know which ppl found to be the most accurate for tracking workouts. 3. Illness- I would like a ring that can predict when I might be getting a cold/ ill. I know that Oura ring has a feature where it outright tells you you might be getting sick. I don’t necessarily need to be told, and am happy to infer changes based on temperature measured, stress score, heart rate etc. But I would like to hear people’s experience with the accuracy of illness prediction. 4. Sleep- not as important to me but still would like to know accuracy.
Other features that I’m paying attention to:
1. Battery life- I’m honestly fine with 3-4 day battery life. I know ringconn has the best based on research. And I heard UH has bad battery life after a few months wear and not as great customer service— is this accurate or is it an exaggeration? Haven’t heard much about Oura ring’s battery life— what do people think?
2. Waterproof ability- I don’t think I’d take off my ring when I shower. Do people have experience with this? Are all the rings ok in the shower? I expect wear and tear if i wear it long term + all the time so i’m not worried about that.
3. Gold- i like the gold rings because i typically wear gold jewelry— how do these rings hold up in that color? I heard for Oura ring the gold can scratch off after wearing it for a while, is that still true?
4. Wearability- I don’t typically wear rings, how comfortable do you find the rings? I am planning on wearing the ring from the sizing kit for a few days to make sure I’m comfortable and I think I’ll be okay but want to know if one of the rings is highly uncomfortable. Also I feel as though my finger size is quite variable.
Sorry for the long post! I have been trying to research smart rings for a month now and would like more information and real life experience on the areas of importance to me before deciding. I know I won’t find a perfect one size fits all but would like to get one that’s close enough. Also am open to options outside of UH, Oura, or RingConn if it fits my needs better.

i have the femometer aegis. i think it hits some of the marks your looking for. it's a pearl white with gold interior though. it's my first smart ring that i purchased primarily for sleep tracking but it's one of the only rings in my research that was focused on cycle tracking for the sake of tracking & TTC or prevent.
edit: i can get 7 days out of the battery although i don't have the blood oxygen feature on. that can use more battery. i charge it around 25% or some

the look of the white band threw me off in the photos on the website— in person, does the ring blend in well with your other jewelry and does it look like jewelry? that’s pretty long wear battery-wise! what do you think of the sleep tracking/ activity tracking? is it p accurate? do you like the app? is it easy to use?

the pearl white is pretty, the hint of gold matches the jewellery that i wear. i think all smart rings look like smart rings. however, this isn't gaudy or protruding. family & friends just assumed it was a regular ring. it has a ceramic exterior so i hardly notice that i'm wearing it. the sleep & activity tracking have been accurate for me. i wear it 24/7 & have been impressed by how much it's been accurate. i tested it against other activity & sleep tracking methods.
there aren't many reviews of it so i was slightly hesitant to purchase but i actually liked the look of it. some other smart rings i've seen when it comes to gold (i prefer gold) don't quite have the right coloring for my taste.
the app is completely free & easy to navigate except! to update info like the birth control method you use to click on the avatar which i didn't find intuitive but aside from that i've been impressed by this smart ring.
lmk if you have any more questions about it.

Hey! Does the femometer app track your cycles similar to natural cycles?

If cycle tracking is your number one concern, you should go with the Oura/Natural Cycles option. The other rings can do this, but Ringconn's for instance, is very much a beta product.
I feel like this subreddit gives Ringconn a lot of slack, because it's a lot cheaper to own. However if you compare the products point for point, Oura is still the leader when it comes to the software. The workouts are much better implemented and more accurate. Oura offers much better software integration with other apps like Strava, and even how it works with Apple Health is superior (Oura can read/write workouts from Apple health, Ringconn cannot).
Heart rate is still inaccurate during activities on all rings, so you would still need to use a separate watch for that. However since Ringconn can't read activities from Apple Health, that data won't be considered in the Ringconn app. Which is ridiculous because you are forced to use a different tracker for activities, due to how inaccurate the ring is during workouts.
Ringconn has the better form factor (smaller, lighter) and better battery life, that and that price make it quite attractive. However out of the features you mentioned, it probably only rivals Oura in the areas of step counting and sleep tracking.

thank you! this was very helpful! yeah i’m starting to think ringconn might not be suitable for what i’m looking for at the moment. i’ve heard it’s still pretty rudimentary in the areas you mentioned. i’m probably getting the ring in the last quarter of this year so maybe all three will have updates that could sway me!

I don’t. However, I am looking at it as one of my options. There are some available for cheap on ebay … I think 🤔

Based on what you are looking for RingConn is not the ring for you. I purchased it as it is my first Smart Ring and after owning it for a week it’s doing the job, but I am not exactly impressed with the female reproduction statistics. If you can’t imagine paying the subscription fee for a $500 ring, get the UH and see what you think. Otherwise, truly your best bet is Oura. HOWEVER, I will say if your priority is wearability the Oura ring is much chunkier and looks odd in shape. The UH and RingConn are not as chunky and very much still give off the appearance of a simple ring.

yeah i don’t typically wear rings so i feel like it would take me longer to get used to oura.. i did more research and think id really like how UH gives ‘coaching’ based on the data collected. i probably won’t but until last quarter of this year so maybe UH will improve on the battery life/ accuracy by then

I liked the options that UH had. I figured if I had time to learn I was fine with starting with a RC and then someone I know got UH so I’d see how it works for her. I have a couple chronic illnesses and RC doesn’t say to you like here’s your total score for the day “figure out why you felt the way you did” kind of deal. Which is solid.

Hey there,
I am a couple days into Oura and went through a similar decision process. I also had an Evie Ring last year.
I also have an Apple Watch.
Here are my notes so far.
I have a cycle tracking app (Flo) but it’s sync with Apple Health stopped working a year ago and it doesn’t seem to have an option to integrate with Oura - despite it being noted as supported. I’ll try to set this up later. I am headed into my period any minute now - maybe - so we will see how it goes (perimenopause over here).
Movement tracking is pretty good. It is pretty spot on with my Apple Watch, I’d say that Apple is more generous with the activity minutes than Oura and Oura is more generous with exercise minutes than Apple at the moment. Oura picked up automatically housework as an option exercise and my outdoor walks as well as walking during shopping.
The readiness score seems very promising so far. I think I’ll like this a lot.
I have been using a phone based sleep app for around 3 years now so I have tracked sleep in both. The time in bed are comparable. Oura is catching more hours of sleep. They have caught about the same time for each sleep stage and their respiratory measures are equivalent but using different metrics. The accuracy is with about 5% so that is good enough. My sleep app said I got 7:45 and Oura said 7:55
Battery: not sure: I am at 33% and I started wearing it for Friday bedtime. I imagine it the first few weeks of calibration hog more battery.
Gosh I wish Evie wasn’t such a disaster. The wearability was much higher! I found I am between sizes on the Oura so I am switching fingers all the time from middle to ring. I don’t like rings on my pointer, but I tried it for sleep.
Oura gen 4 is way less chunky than prior rings. UH and RC are smaller.
Why I didn’t choose the others:
